High-end looks, low-end price, be realistic in your expectations.
I'm torn between 3-4 stars. As far as looks go, its a 5 star product. It seems its somewhere between Ultra and Mid-century modern. The color as others have stated isn't a bright Apple store white, but in fact more of an off, vanilla. With that said this futon is 4 feet away from a stark bright white desk but neither piece looks out of place, also incandescent lighting will cast enough of a warm light on the room that they almost become the same color. From an assembly standpoint I'd say its a 3 or a 4 depending upon when it comes time to flip it right side up. The 2 halves are tied together via a standard hinge and flipping it over by yourself can be a chore as there is so much flex it seems as if its going to break. 2 people flipping at the same time solves the issue but it can be done by yourself as well, you just can't toss it on its feet is all I'm saying. The feet, while metal, are a VERY thin gauge tubing. I can understand as other people have said the legs have snapped at the welds why. To avoid that try not to do the typical sitting adjustment where you just suddenly thrust or scoot your body to change sitting position, I'd imagine that is what puts the lateral torque that causes welds to break, sideways. Just a thicker gauge metal would resolve any worries. Not really sure how it could be reinforced other than the owner adding wood feet in other places, but that will bring me to my next point. So far I think I'm 3-4 weeks in to ownership, and while there is no sagging to the FRAME as of yet, I can see where there is a possibility for it with long term use. Just for the sake of disclosure I have this product in my front office/video game room at home, there might be a week where I don't even go in there, let alone sit down, but then there will be spurts like the last 2 weeks I have laid on this for 4 hours every night playing xbox. If this item was used as a daily living room sofa with multiple people at a time I think it would be much more short lived than the sporadic use mine gets. I am 5'11ish I guess and 210lbs. I feel it is comfortable as long as you understand what it is, its not some super cushy sofa your going to sink down into watching Netflix for 12 hours. The best way to describe the cushion/padding of this is like a waiting room chair or seats at the movie theater. It has cushion to it, but it is a firm cushion. It is not the most comfortable but it is a lot better than a solid plastic or wood chair with no cushion at all. In futon mode I think it would be the perfect foundation to put a twin or full size air mattress on for an occasional spur of the moment guest bed. Sleeping on it bare for a full night might be a stretch but for an occasional afternoon nap, I had no issues the one time I tried it. I don't get people that expect futons to be a full time primary bed and want the comfort of a tempurpedic, a futon is the same void as a daybed, occasional sleeping for naps or temporary guests without taking up the size of a full time dedicated framed mattress bed. Now as far as the material, the faux leather/pleather looks nice, but it is very very, very, very, thin. You can tell by just pushing your finger into it how thin it is. because of this, I can say dogs, cats, and children standing on this could destroy it in about 10 minutes. it is just such a thin, soft material, that I just honestly feel that the covering will wear out well before the frame, cushioning, etc. I have several faux leather ottomans from Target and they are a much thicker, resilient material than this. The thinness of the covering will also show stretching pretty fast, there is a side that has more wrinkles than the other from just the occasional use. However the tufted design tends to hide it, as well as a few pillows that will be on there anyway. Sorry for such a long review however, I am always glad to see thorough review for items I am considering.Bottom line is this is an amazing looking piece, that looks much more expensive than it is. Not recommended as full time sofa or bed. Design has its flaws but a little common sense and realistic expectation of its price and what it is intended for go a long way. Not recommended for children or pets as climbing on it could tear the thin material pretty easily. Comfort is so-so, but that is the nature of futons. For the price it is great so far, I would buy again. The manufacturer should look at increasing gauge of tubing used for feet, as well as a much thicker covering on par with similar faux leather items from big box stores. I will also say that due to the nature of this product being mass produced, with the materials used, I can see where it would be pretty easy to get a lemon or one with issues. I wish they made a matching armless barcelona style chair/ottoman to go with this as matching the off white color and matteness of the white could be an issue with furniture placed directly against it. Overall I got this for $189 and am satisfied with it at that price, and would still be happy up to $250. Anything after that they would need to significantly upgrade materials used. There just isn't much that compares to this high end looking design, at this low of a price.

Firm but does the trick
This futon is firm. I have broken it in over the last few months of having it so it's not as hard as it was when I first purchased it. I just needed a couch/sofa small enough to fit through doorways and easy to move when moving in/out. It was easy to put together by myself. Amazon drivers delivered on time and brought it to my room of choice. I have slept on it several times and am thinking of purchasing a mattress topper to provide a little more softness to it. I wouldn't recommend it for someone in a studio apartment or dorm room where this would be your only sleeping option, just because it is pretty firm. I do not use it in flat mode, I keep it in "sofa" mode and it serves it's purpose of simply being a place to sit, watch TV, and maybe take a nap in my living room. The futon itself is very sturdy, I've sat with another person on it and it held us up well (this would've been at least 350lbs combined). I wasn't a fan of the color but I purchased a cover for it. During an Amazon Promotion I was able to purchase it for a cheaper rate than what is currently being shown. Overall satisfied with this purchase!

Works for the price
Bought this for my daughter’s space. The neighbor kids always here or sleeping over. All are between 8-12. She picked the pink. It is comfortable for the price. My only frustration is the back won’t click into place so we have to lean it against the wall or it will lay flat(bed style). I didn’t bother returning because the kids will probably destroy it eventually. Bed is a good size.

LOVE IT
love this couch-it’s a true real/peacock color.I hated the shiny chrome legs, so I painted them a matte black to match the rest of my stuff. Not the comfiest couch/futon, but it’s for a home office, so…doesn’t really matter. I wouldn’t get this futon if you want a lot of guests to sleep on it. I am overall very pleased and great price.

Beware it is a hassle.
Box did not have much damage, any damage was fixed with tape. When I got the futon out of the box there was no damage. When I went to the compartment to get hardware, all the screws were missing! They had fallen into the couch. So I had to unhinge that side of the couch and shake it around while being careful of the back piece that folds down. Finally I get all the hardware and connect the two sides together again. I start putting hardware in and everything seems to be fine. I am Still skeptical about the longevity of this piece. All the legs are made out of extremely thin metal and are spot welded. The bolts do not go into the wood (bolts aren’t supposed to) but they are so short that it is a concern. Also the plates for the front legs were not square but the ended up working. Flipping the couch over by my self was also had me a bit worried. Since the sides are only connected by 2 hinges. As a fabricator I would have used 3 minimum, 5 would be best. The back rests do fold done a lot. I would only purchase this to put against a wall. You need to be careful with the fold down parts when flipping/ moving, as these are weak points. The couch seems to be sturdy and comfortable while used as a couch. I am 6ft 290lbs and I stood on the couch to hang up a poster. I also had my self and a my brother 6’3” 280lb sit next to me and the couch was fine. So the 600lb weight limit seems to be true. If I was to modify this couch I would have more support in the middle, more hinges or preferably make it one piece. All in all I am happy with this convertible couch. It is aesthetically Pleasing. Biggest gripes are packaging (screws falling in couch), trust in hardware.

I set the bar nice and low, and was pleasantly surprised
After reading the reviews of this couch I had set the bar so low this thing could honestly have crawled over it. We needed a couch that was not expensive, temporary but still functional. I had resigned myself to a cheap couch from Ikea but the day I was about to order I came across this on sale for $249 and decided, what hell for an extra $100 the lay flat option might actually be of use.First, the box is heavy and large so don't expect to muscle it by yourself, but having said that I just flipped it end over end to get it into the house because well I'm stubborn. The couch is covered in some sort of fabric bag to protect it, which was nice because this thing is white and my black dog doesn't need any help getting it all dirty. It lifted right off at which point I found the couch has a hinge in the middle allowing it to literally fold in half for storage or transport which I have to say is actually pretty cool. There's a zipper sealed compartment on the underside which contains all the legs, 2 hex keys and 2 sets of screws.I uh didn't look at the instructions, but basically it's fairly obvious what goes where, the smaller of the screws was used for the center legs and the larger of the screws for the front legs. In all it took me about 10 minutes to put them all in and snug everything up. Flipping the couch over it felt a little flimsy and I was honestly worried that something was going to break but to my surprise, it was all just fine.Raising and lowering the back appeared to be a major source of pain for other reviewers, and here's what I learned within about ... 30 seconds? If you pull the back panels all the way forward and then lean them back they will go flat. When you raise them however from flat there are 2 click positions, the first is a reclined position the second is a seated position. If you stop raising once you hear the click, it locks into place. Note that for each panel there's a click on the left and right side of the panel.Comfort, it's a matter of taste and preference, for me I find the couch itself to be 'ok' in the comfort department for two reasons.1. The back is quite low so you've got nowhere to rest your head unless you slide down into the couch and basically slouch awkwardly. I can definitely see my back flipping me the bird at some point doing this, but for the most part, it's not too bad.2. Even at it's sharpest angle, you've got no lumbar support, but this can easily be corrected if you throw a cushion or something behind you.So all in all, I would give this couch a 4 out of 5 because really at $250 what are more are you expecting? Oh the material, this is the faux leather model and don't worry there is no chance you would ever mistake this as being leather, it takes faux to a whole new level. But in an interesting diversity quota kind of way.

Exactly what I wanted
I was hesitant to order at first, as I wasn’t sure what the quality/comfort would be, and if the box would be too big to have at the place I was sharing with my ex before I moved. Well the box was smaller than expected as the futon has a centre hinge in addition to the reclining hinges, and the feet and parts are stashed in a hidden hole underneath. It wasn’t too heavy for a couple of able bodied people to manoeuvre, just a bit cumbersome. I had it set up within 5-10 minutes as the instructions were straightforward and had very few steps. The seat back positions took a few tries to work out the trick but I have it where I want now (recline positon is ideal for relaxing, gaming and… romance). The comfort is as I wanted. Sure I may like things hard, but anyone who complains it is too hard and hurts their back clearly needs to go see a chiropractor. Reclined position is like being held in a gentle giant’s palm. The seat depth is also just what I wanted. You don’t feel the middle seam unlike some reviews are saying, as the futon is still firm enough that you don’t sink in excessively. I had a friend over for relaxing with pizza and video games and he said it was a decent futon too.
