Hurrican Mr Jack Extension

We love this game. It is easy to play, quick to set up and easy to teach. It doesn’t take a long time to play and it really lets you learn how your opponent thinks. Great family game. The expansion just adds to the fun.Definitely buy this.

Mr. Jack is a great game by itself, but after a while it became fairly predictable. With the base game, we eventually got to the point that whoever was playing Jack pretty much knew who was going to win during the first round. This expansion has completely overcome that issue, and has brought the game back to the top of our stack. The game play hasn't changed, but there are more characters, which changes the setup to allow for more variety in starting points. If you enjoy the base game, I would say that the expansion is a must have.

Good expansion for Mr. Jack! It contains more characters with different abilities which helps each game be more unique. We like some more than others, but overall, a win for us.

To be honest, I haven't played the Mr. Jack base game that many times. I did know, however, that it had been noted by many serious gamers (on boardgamegeek) that Mr. Jack only has about a 40% chance of winning the game. After playing and losing as Jack several times I didn't hesitate to purchase the extension. It isn't that the base game is broken, it's just not as interesting to me knowing how bad the odds are for Jack. Based on my limited play, it seemed as if the ideal way to play the base game was to NOT try to escape at all, try to keep as many characters as possible either in the light or in the dark, and only try to escape if there was a guaranteed path.The extension throws all of that into question. It adds five new characters, all with some very interesting abilities that definitely increase Jack's odds of winning. One character can hop around the board, another can move up to six spaces in one turn, and another prohibits all characters next to it from moving one than one space at a time while they are next to that character.The extension also changes the base game rules. For one, you start with four characters from the base game, but the rest are determined by the two players. You shuffle the five new characters in with the remaining four and then deal them out, five to Jack and four to the investigator. Each player chooses two from their hand and the rest are discarded. Secondly, the characters are then placed on the board in turn by each player. There's no longer an assigned starting position. Both of these changes add strategy and depth to the base game.Simply put, if you liked Mr. Jack you definitely want the extension.

Das Spiel ist super. Wir haben es uns für Silvester gekauft, da ja dieses Jahr alles anders ist. Wir hatten so viel Spaß und es ist immer wieder neu spannend.

Flippin’ love it. Great expansion to a lovely little game!Basically no rules changes, so easy to get out and get started. This expansion adds new characters, with interesting new powers - but you still play with just 8 characters. You can play with a mix of new and old, or just use your favourites! It also introduces variable set up (rather than just placing the characters as shown in the rules).Net result- same old Mr Jack fun, but an excitingly different puzzle each time you play.Totally recommend.

Los nuevos personajes que se incluyen en esta expansión abren una nueva dimensión al juego. Eso sí, el personaje ed Spring-heeled Ma puede hacer que la partida se haga evidente en cuanto se descarte algún personaje, o puede ayudar mucho si es Jack.Adjunto fotos del juego para que se observe que va perfectamente con el juego base.Recomiendo sin duda alguna el juego base y esta expansión.

Mr jack new york non è un'espansione, è un gioco a se stante.Il gioco è bello, ma do 3 stelle perchè, nonostante ciò che viene affermato nella descrizione e nelle risposte alle domande degli utenti, non c'è il manuale in italiano. C'è in tutte le lingue europee, ma proprio tutte, tranne che in italiano.
