Great paint. Went over some copper pipe and made it look new! Pretty odorous - but does what it should. Dries fast and odor dissipates quickly. Trustworthy brand and an honest process. True hammered copper look and color. Recommend.

This paint is fantastic for painting any kind of indoor or outdoor ironwork. It paints right over rusted metal without the need of a primer and leaves a fantastic glistening coating that has an unusual but wonderful texture effect. I don't know how they do it but we love it for painting porch or balcony wrought iron, security bars, front-porch benches, interior iron-work, etc. The color is fantastic and better looking than the sprayed-on thing of the same color. This is the paint and I have re-bought it now two more times. You must be quick, however, as it is fast drying and you need to be through painting within 4 hours or wait a full week for tough-up, etc. One coat is all I ever needed painting over black or bronze ironwork. It goes on thick and covers well in one coat. Just keep the used paint brushes in a plastic baggie in the freezer and you can use them again with the next item to be painted! You get a $200.00 paint job with a $20.00 can of paint!

I bought this to paint MDF panels to make a slat wall. Because of the area of coverage I needed, I decided not to use spray paint. I'm not sure if that was the right call, but I made it work. My biggest mistake was that I didn't prime the MDF beforehand (so it definitely seemed to soak up the initial layers of paint), and that I didn't take some serious time practicing and using different brushes/rollers to figure out what worked best for me. This paint definitely has some big pros and cons. Cons: -Difficult to make consistent: it's easy to paint it on too light and just have a slightly gold color. In order to get the hammered effect, you need a thick coat, but it's easy to overdo it and get globs of paint in particular spots. -Strong odor: it produces a LOT of fumes (I painted in a large, open basement, with fans running, but the whole house reeked of paint for a few days. -Enamel paint is more difficult to clean - definitely buy xylene! Pros: -Looks: in the spots where we got the *desired* effect, it looks amazing! It has a very authentically metallic gold color and shine. -Durability: despite some scraping and scuffing, the paint doesn't show any signs of wear or damage. -Quality: The overall quality of the paint seems great, and I'm definitely happy with it.

I’ve been using this color on my shop tables for awhile and when I decided to make a new project table I went and picked up some more of this color. It seems right now like this silver is harder to find then the other hammered options. I’m happy with the looks and past performance. I took the time to refresh my other tables since I was painting the new one.

I took a risk and used this to paint several the stainless steel sink in my kitchen copper. Six weeks in and I am still very pleased. I figured at ~$15 (plus $20 for the primer) this was worth the chance over having to pay $1000+ for a new copper sink, even if it only lasts me a year. (See update at bottom to find out how it held up.) The process: First I cleaned with CLR, sanded thoroughly, and then primed with SEM stainless steel self-etching primer. Then I did two coats of this paint. I also did the faucet by turning off the water and flipping the handle up and painting everything visible, then moving the handle and painting and spots that were missed after it dried. So far there has been no chipping of any kind. At the curves of the sink there was a little puddling where the paint settles from the sides, but it is really not very noticeable and because of the hammered texture. I have not been treating sink delicately -- I leave dishes sitting in it all of the time -- and I am a little surprised that I haven't ruined it yet. I'll try and remember to update this review after some more time has passed. But so far I'm very impressed! I'm of the opinion that DIY projects shouldn't *look* like you did them yourself, and several people have told me that they would never guess that the sink was painted. A couple notes: Be careful when you're taping, because it can seep under some. You definitely need two coats, it will look awful on the first one. You have to wait 30 minutes to apply the second coat, and then you have to do it within 4 hours, so make sure you have enough time blocked out to do the whole project in one afternoon. The paint goes on thick, but gets pretty good coverage...I used a little less than half of the quart for the sink and then a few other details around the kitchen. Update 12/26/2018: This held up perfectly for the first six months! No chipping of any sort, despite the fact that I am awful at doing dishes in a timely manner and would leave things sitting around for a few days. The problems started when I forgot to do dishes and left for a week and came back to find a little mold had grown on the bottom of a bowl, which ate away at the finish enough to pull up a small amount of the paint. Around 12 months in there were a couple of other spots like that on the sink, and the very top of the handle had worn down some just from regular use and very soapy hands. The good news is touch-ups are super easy! I didn’t have any of the etching primer I used originally left, but and I didn’t bother with any extreme scrubbing/cleaning/prep this time around, but just applied the paint directly to the bare spots (two coats) and it blended in perfectly. That was maybe two months ago, and it’s still holding up! It only took a few minutes of work, so I won’t hesitate to do touch-ups in the future and I’m confident that this sink will last for however long the shelf-life of the can of paint is.

This hammered copper paint was just what we wanted! It was easy to work with, looks genuinely like hammered copper, it’s the perfect shade of copper, and was a perfect application for the steel stair rails! We also used it on wood—diluted it somewhat and got the perfect lighter colour with the same hammered texture. I searched many outlets for copper paint in a can—found lots of copper spray paint, but this was the ONLY can of hammered coppered I could find. To say we are pleased with the product would be an understatement…I would highly recommend this paint to anyone desiring a genuine hammered copper finish! I used it for coating a wooden rack I made for my truck bed. Covered in one coat without primer. Held up over a year so far and has been outside all year. Love the look and the color matches my truck. It calls for xylene to clean brush. I only recommend using a old or new disposable brush to save money on xylene.

Amazing finish… used for wooden railing of staircase as well as fireplace mantel. Great results. Good coverage as well.
