Taboo Refill 1

We'd used our game so much that we kind of remembered a lot of the clues, so this expansion deck is a GREAT find!

This refill was filled with many of the same cards. I thought it was a fluke when we were playing the game that there were some repeat cards and then I decided to check out the whole deck and found that OVER HALF of the the deck was repeats. This seller is dishonest or they were taken advantage of too.

If you have any Taboo fans in your family, you know that the games get boring when someone has "memorized" the cards. Well, they didn't mean to but it just happened because they have played it so many times. There are clumsy online resources (fan club attempted a database of new words) but this "refill" pack is priceless. On e-bay it was going for up to $50!!! When you go shopping for it, be sure NOT to mistake a replacement pack of original cards for this set of new additional words.

fun game, BUT get the expansion packs!

This offer is definitely not the best way to get Taboo refills, unless, of course, you have money to burn. That is why I gave this only one star. The better way to get new word cards is to purchase the new Big Taboo game and use the cards from that game. Big Taboo contains the basic Taboo game plus a few other variations that I think make the game more complicated. So if you don't want to play the new version, then you can use the cards with the original Taboo game. One thing to know is that the Big Taboo cards are slightly wider then the original cards and do not fit into the lower section of the card tray. However, they do fit in the lid, so what I do is keep the unused pile next to the tray and move the card to the lid as needed during a turn. When the timer expires, just return the cards on the tray lid to the bottom of the unused pile and move the tray and unused card stack to the next player.
