Vintage Chinese Wooden Bead Arithmetic Abacus W. Storage Compartments

Thrilled with my purchase. This has a luxurious look with its deep, rich red and gold colors and brass colored locks and handles. I make tatted lace (tooth fairy is pictured) and bought this to keep count of my patterns and to hold my tatting tools and secret chocolate stash. I wish the drawer didn’t drop so much because the eye is drawn to the larger than expected gap. However, despite that, it deserves 5 stars for its overall beauty and impact. It makes quite the statement and its useful too!!

The packaging was terrible. The quality of the inside of the box is poor and I did not receive the little booklet as shown on the picture. My clasp on the box was bent, as if someone else owned this and resold it. But when purchasing, it did. It state it was a used item.It’s cute.

I purchased this for my husband as a graduation gift when he received his degree in accounting. I thought it would be cool to buy him a fancy abacus to keep in his future office. After looking around, I found many nice ones, but I chose this one because it's a lot more functional as a box. It's very sturdy! The painting seems a tad bit cheap to me, but it still looks nice and I think it's great for the price. It has a bit of an odor from the paint (or is it the wood? I don't know), but I'm sure it will dissipate with time. My husband likes it. :)

It looks very nice and my dad loves it! It doesn't feel super light or cheap, but also doesn't feel expensive either, however it looks a lot more expensive than it actually is.

This item was purchased as décor. It is a handsome piece and we have received many compliments on it. It is made of wood and while I do not know if it would stand up to use, as an object of décor, it is beautiful. I think it is slightly more red than the picture projects.

Well made original looking display piece. Two storage compartments add to its usefulness. Actual abacus is functional but really is designed for show. Purchased as a gift for an accountant. Will look great in her office.
