QC is lacking
I've been wearing 513s for years but Levi's quality control is awful. There seems to be a 1-3" variance in inseam length. I could buy 3 identical pairs of 36x30 and get 3 different lengths which makes buying these online a hassle. I recently ordered 5 pairs (same size, different washes) and had to return 2 because they were too long in the leg.

Not comfortable.
I'm not happy with the stiff and chemical feel of these 513's. The Amazon description said they were 1% elastane and 2% elastomultiester polyester. However the tag on the jean's themselves says 2% elastane and 3% elastomultiester polyester. The results is a slick and stiff texture which feels nothing like the 513's I bought about 5 years ago. Another case of bait-and-switch. If you like stiff jeans that require all kinds of work (vinegar soaks, baking soda soaks, beating the jeans with a baseball bat to break up the fibers) then maybe these will work for you. If you want something that has the soft comfortable texture of real cotton - don't be fooled. It takes very little elastane and polyester to take over the whole enjoyment of the fabric.
