Acts (N. T. Wright for Everyone Bible Study Guides)

This book is very helpful for the Bible study group I am attending. Good insights on the book of Acts.

I purchased this book for my bible study group. We have previously used the MacArthur study books of the gospels, but I wanted something that was a little more "study" style.This book is good, not great. I gave it 5 stars because I only read the 5/1 star reviews and if I take the time to write a review, I want others to read it!A chapter can be completed in a day. It is written from a pretty high-level view, not down into the meat of the scripture as I had hoped.Thomas Wright is insightful in a way that I appreciate. He has given me some moments to ponder- a different perspective of the scriptures than I had taken before, and that is always appreciated.Along with a a good commentary or 2 and study bible, this book has been easy to teach from and the ladies seem to like it. Of course, we haven't met in person for the time we've been in the book so I can only hazard that they use the book because they always answer the questions when I ask!

"John" by N.T.Wright, used as Bible Study Guide for 26 weeks and "The "Word" truly came alive for this Adult Sunday School Class. Tom Wright is truly a down to earth New Trestament scholar. A true delight to teach from this guide and make a interesting presentation for an adult christian education class that invited discussions, questions researched and answered and with a new understanding of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and a true friend. Our Pastor, Dr.Sam Haun, Sr.Pastor of Brookside Presbyterian Church, Tulsa OK said we could not found a better theologian & author to be guided by and Pastor Sam encouraged us to use Wright's study books on the bible.After finishing "John", we (our class) will begin our next bible study with N.T. Wright's Study Guides for Everyone of the bible book of "Acts", 24 studies for individuals and groups. Each class member will have their own book to enjoy and study.We are also providing the option by having available the offering a second book by Wright "Acts, Part One, Chapters 1-12" which could be called as another expansion of the regular class study guide. As a Lay Leader, I think it will help those that want to learn the subject matter in more depth. We use to help lead our Bible study group on the Book of Acts and found it very useful. There is historic information and good questions to prompt discussion topics. Would highly recommend this book as once again N T Wright focuses on what is essential and important in each section we study.

We are a group of Lay people who takes turn leading the study and this book is perfect for us.

I love this......it has some commentary and many good questions. We use it in our weekly Bible studynto guide our discussion.

It is usable with lay study groups but could have had more reference to the political, religious and cultural background of this writing, material which Wright knows extremely well.

A very helpful book....and easy to understand!!!

NT Wright what is one of my favourite theologians, and this book/study of Acts doesn't disappoint.
