Perfect for neonatal kittens
The media could not be loaded. I bought this plush as of this morning and it's already working, the heartbeat gives a steady beat and the second I put it next to my kitten she's immediately calm. So far I've only used the standard 8 hour beat since I work from home so I'm unsure when the battery will go out but so far so good. It's nice to have it since I work on a computer and can't type while taking care of her. My kitten is only 12 days old as of writing this, she's already into the softness in it's design, napped underneath it and beside it. There's not any loud noises at least from what I'm seeing on other reviews. I'm not sure if she'll play with it as she gets older but she loves it so far. It's a very soft plush appearance, the battery life seem well so far.

Grieving Pet Parent's -- Read this review prior to purchase
Sorry in advance for being long-winded with this review! I only wish this info had been available to me, when pondering this $40.00 purchase. Yes, it's really expensive. But this little cuddle kitty has been a life-saver for my Romeo. So, here is my sob story...my "almost" 14 year old Domestic Short-Hair cat Romeo is missing his brother Rocco.Romeo & Rocco, brother's since birth (pictured together as kitten's & adult's), they were together since 4/2004. They groomed, slept, played and loved on each-other their entire lives. On 1/23/18, I came home @ 10:00pm, both cat's seemed to be fine, they both ate a late dinner. Rocco (black & white/ cow cat), as normal, he went downstairs to his litter box and then, I heard a horrible flailing noise. I ran to check on him and there was my "seemingly healthy boy" laying on the step (indoors), crying and his back legs were completely paralyzed, and he was having trouble breathing. We rushed him to the emergency vet, but there was no saving him. He was newly (that night) diagnosed with congestive heart failure & that night, a blood clot had released & perched itself just in the right spot, as to cut-off all circulation to both of his back feet (with no positive prognosis). It was the most terrifying and traumatizing thing that I've ever gone through. Rocco was in pain, he was in duress, he couldn't breathe normally...and with no viable treatment's available, we were forced to put him to sleep that night. It was the absolute hardest decision that I have ever been forced to make. He was my baby! He slept with me every night! He was this crazy little kitty who "LOVED" to be vacuumed...anytime I ran the vacuum, he was right there, wanting to be vacuumed. I only wish, I had video of it.So, after we came home from the hospital without Rocco that morning, his brother Romeo was missing him so much over the next few days. I thought, what can I do to ease his loneliness, worry, and just plain sadness?? I went online and "Googled"..."Cuddle Kitty" and up came this little stuffed animal on Amazon. It wasn't inexpensive at almost $40.00 & I'm not rich, however, I thought, if this could in "ANYWAY" ease Romeo's suffering, I'm all in!I purchased "Kitty" from Amazon and keep in mind, he/ she's nothing more than a really soft and well made stuffed animal. The heart-beat...? I really don't think it made much difference (as other's have said, it's rather loud and for me, really unnatural, the manufacturer should quiet it down a bit). I never used the included heat-pack because I placed a heating-pad on my couch for Romeo & "Kitty"...they seemed to like it.6 week update: Romeo doesn't sleep with "Kitty" anymore. He actually avoids "Kitty" and that's fine. If he just needed "Kitty" to get him over the "hump" so be it! I'm guessing other pet-parent's would agree and do the same. OVERALL: Kitty is a great purchase...you've gotta do, what you've gotta do, at the time and if this little guy works...GREAT!

First time my rescue kitten has relaxed
I was skeptical of this product, but thought I would get it given I rescued a feral kitten from a pretty terrible situation, and thought I had a foster for her, but it fell through, so I ended up being a first time foster pretty intimidated. She grew up with two siblings, and they all slept together, she’s been a tough medical case with cdlicivirus, and a couple of other scary things, so I’ve had to keep her quarantine. At first, she climbed the walls, terrified of me and now, after about four weeks, she’s a cuddly, sweet, crazy little cat. I’ve decided to keep her her her name is Peach. I’ve been slowly socializing her with my two other 12-year-old female cats and it’s been a tough adjustment, she’s very kitten, like of course, and loves to pounce and play, but really won’t leave them alone. So I’ve had to keep her in a separate room at night, and do only very small introductions in the day which don’t always go well. I turned this toy on tonight in desperation, and it is truly incredible. At first, she tried to hump it, clearly dominant behavior, and now she is cuddled up to it, and so relaxed, the most relaxed I’ve ever seen her. I’m so happy for her to get some really good rest , I absolutely recommend this to anyone. It’s a really remarkable invention.

Was missing heat pack
It’s good overall but the heat pack was not in the box which was disappointing bc I purchased for a litter that was only 10ft us old and really needed a heat source.

A godsend for my orphaned 2 week old kitten
I rescued a teeny tiny kitten, not more than two weeks old when we found him, who had been separated from his mother and the rest of the litter. This toy was a godsend. It keeps him warm, it gives him something in his carrier to cuddle with, and the heartbeat -- though it seemed a bit loud to me at first, was worried it would scare him -- does really keep him calm. Whenever he's in a new and stressful situation (vet's office, etc.) he'll crawl right under the toy and fall asleep. It was even useful when teaching him to bottle feed! (He would try to suckle on the toy when he was getting hungry, so we started giving him his bottle while he was laying on the toy. I think it helped him get the hang of the bottle!) If you are caring for a neonatal kitten, the snuggle kitty is an absolute necessity!! I don't know what we'd do without it.

Could be better
I foster kittens that have to be bottle fed and purchased this based on the recommendations of a friend. It does have a calming effect on most of the kittens I care for however, I think there are several ways it could be better. The company could have made a microwaveable heating pack rather than the single use disposable ones. Or even a small water bottle to fit inside the plush toy. The heating packs do not warm the entire plush toy, just the underside (the belly). The heartbeat seems okay, but a purring feature in addition to the heartbeat would be a nice addition. As it stands, I use this in conjunction with a hot water bottle and another product that purrs. If those improvements were made this product would be perfect.
