This saved me from having to have intravenous steroids due to graves eye disease also known as thyroid eye disease. I was having extreme pressure and pain in my eyes, they felt like they were going to explode and I had very limited eye mobility. My eye surgeon said I was in the active phase of graves eye disease and advised a 6 week weekly treatment of intravenous steroids but also suggested, before the steroids, I try selenium 100 MCG twice a day. By day 4 of taking this selenium my eye pain was almost completely gone. When I saw my eye surgeon, after taking this selenium for 2 weeks, she said I no longer needed the intravenous steroids. She recommended 6 months of selenium treatment. I ended up getting my thyroid removed because my thyroid surgeon said my eyes could get worse due to an autoimmune disorder I have called graves disease but I'm amazed at how the selenium took away my eye pain, gave me substantial eye movement back and saved me from having to take steroids. If you are suffering from thyroid related eye disease please see an opthamologist who specializes in it and see what they recommend for you. I highly recommend this supplement.

My ophthalmologist recommended I begin to take 100mcg of Selenium daily for an eye condition I have. Unfortunately, that was easier said than done, as it was impossible to find in any health food, nutrition or grocery store, until I found these! I now order them regularly. They arrive on time and are value priced. I swallow them, so no taste, but must add the capsules sometimes have the tendency to stick to the back of my throat. One small sip of water before swallowing, and one large gulp of water after, seems to do solve that issue.

I have been using 100mcg of the antioxidant Selenium daily for the last eight years. My doctor back then recommended Solaray and I have kept with this brand.Selenium is as essential trace mineral and functions as part of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione perioxidase. It is bonded to the essential sulfur amino acid, methionine.According to the FDA's website:"Selenium may reduce the risk of certain cancers. Some scientific evidence suggests that consumption of selenium may reduce the risk of certain forms of cancer. However, FDA has determined that this evidence is limited and not conclusive".There is no way of me knowing how much good these supplements actually do. Just to be sure, I have my servings of fruits and vegetables every day!(I also take 100mg of Grapenol as an added antioxidant, twice weekly).All's well so far :)

One can only compare the sensual aspect of the product. It is thin, compact, and easiest to swallow of other comparable products. I will choose thi over any other comparably compounded selenium product. Does it work? We hope so.

Selenium was recommended by my Endocrinologist to regulate a mild boarder line thyroid problem. I picked Solaray because it is yeast free. It works great

The price, purity, and efficacy of this brand is the very best i have found.

I am a recovering breast cancer patient who has had 4 session of chemotherapy and 33 radiation treatments which left my body in a very weakened condition and I take Selenium 100 mcg, along with my other supplements, to get my strength and immune system back up to "par". I've studied up on all my supplements and this is one that is recommended for me and my Drs. approve. Solaray is an excellent brand at a reasonable in price. I always recommend to anyone taking supplements to be sure and let their Drs. know what they are, the dosage they are taking and why they feel they are better for taking them. As I said, all my Drs. approve of my daily regimen, so plan to stick with it.
