From function aspect, not much to say, this is UL approved and functions as it should. From the design aspect, huge visual improvement over the standard black outlet. Might not seem like a big deal, but with remodeling the entryway and mud room, we switched to using white outlets and trim, and the old black outlet with silver trim plate stood out like a sore thumb.Very easy, took about 15 minutes to shut off the breaker and swap the outlet/plate, white from black/silver, using basic tools -- if you're not a handy homeowner or comfortable with wiring a 220v outlet, you'll want to hire an electrician for this task.(Note: trim plate sold separately, can be purchased on Amazon and elsewhere; I found mine on clearance for under a dollar at that big orange box store...)

Poor designThe clamping force is achieved by the twisting of the screw, which causes the wire to splay and deform.A good receptacle provides a tight fit for the rated wire and sandwiches the wire between 2 brass plates that get squeezed by a screw. This has no second plate. It only has the screw to keep pressure on the bottom plate. As you torque the screw, the twisting moment causes the wire to spray and deform. I was using 8g wire so there was ample contact, but in my opinion this POS engineered receptical could be defective and faulty if used with thin wire 10g.It works, but know what your getting. I will pay the extra money a buy Levitron or brand name equivalent

The outlet is well constructed and provides a solid connection to plug. The wire terminals on the back of the outlet work well. After seeing it installed, I liked the white color even more than I thought I would. The description has an error in it. It says that this outlet fits a single or double gang box. It does not fit in the single box. I upgraded from a 10-30R outlet to this 14-30R outlet. The 10-30R was installed in a single gang box. It was tight but it fit. The new 14-30R outlet was about a quarter inch wider than the box, and about 3/8" wider than the old outlet. I had to change to a double gang box to finish the replacement. Other than that little surprise, the change out went smooth. I would recommend this outlet to anyone who needs one.

Bought a new dryer. Had the old(er) 3-prong plug that was a little chewed up over the years. Decided I'd rather have a nice new 4-prong plug in white. So I got this.Installation to the terminal screws was easy enough--uses the same sort of concept as backwired outlets or circuit breakers use where you clamp down with a screw. Nice and attractive, and appears well made. I recommend.

Ok it's not quite life changing for me personally, but the ability to run an electric dryer for someone who's never owned or had an electric dryer may well be very life changing.To be clear, this is a dryer outlet, it's made of heavy duty plastic and metal.Solidly built and easy to install.I even saved the packaging and reused it to store money in a hidden spot that I paid a contractor with.

I had some suspicion about the claim that this will fit in a single gang box, but it did. I had to fix the previous owner's installation of a water heater connection to make it compliant. This was the perfect receptacle to replace the old one, which was sitting in a single gang box. I'm a happy camper.

I especially like the very solid and positive design for connecting wiring to this outlet. I've used other 240-v outlets that incorporated difficult and unreliable mounting designs. This design is straightforward to use, and very solid.

I bought a house and the laundry was wired with 4-conductor but, for whatever reason, they renovating contractor/team installed a 3-prong receptacle. So I bought this to 'upgrade' instead of wiring up a new plug on the machine. Worked just as expected.
