Fresh Thai Tamarind - 16 oz (Package may vary)

These tamarinds are so fresh and delicious. Thry have a hard shell on the outside and on the inside there is a soft gooey texture. The best comparison is similar to fruit roll ups. They have a similar taste to dates also, except they have some tanginess to them. They are great to eat as a snack but be careful because they do have seeds.

I purchased a second box thinking the first box was just a bad batch. But the second box is worse. Most of the fruit is not edible. The pods are small and mostly broken, the fruit is shriveled up and impossible to separate from its vines. Some don't have much fruit at all. Wasted money.Bad time of year?

Ordered 2x already. Good quality, very little shell breakage. Will order again

They wee delicious. Could be package better though. Pretty cheap for the amount.

Its too dry maybe as its not fresh have to wet it to get out all the shell

This was larger and contained more than what I expected. I have never had nor seen these prior to ordering. I love them! They are sweet but not too sweet. They have a consistency of dried fruit like maybe an apricot or plum without the peel. Speaking of the peel, they are easy to peel, for their peel can be lightly crushed in between the fingers and removed. The fruit have several pits similar to peas in a pod. The seeds are shiny and pretty. I would like to create something with the seeds. I eat one while I'm waiting for my food to cook or to hold me over for a while.. One pod can help suppress my appetite while I wait. Would purchase again.
