Cesar Chavez: A Hero for Everyone (Milestone) Paperback – September 1, 2003

Learned a lot about Cesar Chavez from this little book.

I teach middle school ELA and work with students who read below grade level. This book was a great way to practice the procedural and conceptual skills that good readers use when reading a biography or memoir--used with 6th graders, ranging Level P-T according to the Fountas and Pinnell reading assessment.

This is a very good book about a very great man. It is a very easy read. Book clearly highlights Cesar's courage, humility and strength. It summarizes the main moments in this Man's Life and what he went through in his Leadership of the Farmworker's Movement - Que Viva La Huelga!

Good book. Read it as a family on a car trip. Great hero

Ordered the book for children living and working in migrant camps they loved it. Other books given were mainstream the children showed pride as the associated with their culture in the book

Good young adult bio of Cesar Chavez. Gifted to local library.

My daughter and I learned a lot about the life of Cesar Chavez. This book was perfect for her school assignment.

Cesar Chavez and his family moved up and down California to work on farms. It was a hard life. Kids made fun of Cesar Chavez because he could only speak Spanish and wore raggedy clothes.Because of what he saw as a kid, he wanted to help the farm workers. He wanted to make it so others did not have so suffer the way he and has family had.I liked this book because it showed how one person can make a big difference. The one thing I did not like about this book is that it had some words that were hard to pronounce.I would recommend this book to kids that are 10-14 years old. Although I had a hard time with some of the words, I think it is important for people to learn about Cesar Chavez.
