Helping yourself
I had read part of the first edition of this book while waiting for an appointment and had to leave it there. Decided it had lots of good information to help me help myself. This second edition has more information on subjects that are relevant to me. The examples and ideas are very helpful to me. I just wish there was some kind of workbook to go along with it. Otherwise, I think it's an excellent book to help anyone help themselves.

Managing Your Mind
I am getting a lot from this book. I am reading it a little at a time from cover to cover and not skipping around. I am taking notes and finding it very useful. There are great "tools" to use to help you deal with difficult situations and ways to train your thoughts. I am continuing to read and digest a little at a time. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to have control of their thoughts and attitudes with a positive outlook.

A great self help book
This is the second edition of a well received book on how to help yourself with various psychological and behavioral issues or problems. The language is understandable and the advice is practical. For example insomnia problems are addressed with "sleep hygiene" approaches. Suggestions like no naps in the daytime, no caffeine after early afternoon and only use your bed for sleep and sex. Get up to read. And more. While there are many books that offer to explain issues, this one actually gives solid advice in understandable language. And for that it deserves five stars

Amazing book!
Amazing book!! It gives excellent tips on dealing with your mind through many difficulties. I'm still reading this book. I use a highlighter to highlight key points that I can look back on, and I pretty much have highlighted the whole book :) Excellent read. I'd also recommend the book Overcoming Social Anxiety And Shyness by the same author. Both excellent books!

The essential owners manual for the human mind
I buy this for everyone I care about. It addresses every element of good mental health with concrete, easy-to-apply steps. It's mostly helpful for people in the normal range of psychological health, but it helps you know when you need to consult a professional. This is preventative psychological health care.

LOVE it!!!!!! I read a few pages every couple of days...I am constantly trying to do several things in the book to help me deal with daily struggles......I take it to vacation every time I go!!

This book has been very useful for me
This book has been very useful for me. I suffer from depression and had been seeing a councilor who recommended this book to me. It has been very helpful and as it covers a range of topics and scenarios the book will be good for future reference on a variety of situations that effect my mental illness. just reading some relevant chapter gave me a better understanding of how to help myself.

Comprehensive.
I was recommended to get this by a CBT practitioner. He said it would help me understand various anxieties. Yes it does have a comprehensive selection of case studies and information. It's written clearly in a way that you can dip in and out of and I learnt quite a lot. On the downside, the organisation of the information didn't fit my own personal needs.

Practical and helpful
I bought this book having suffered a panic attack which was related to stress at work. The book is well written and accessible and provides a practical approach to looking after oneself. In particular it has helped me to identify the root causes of my stress and how to deal with anxieties at an early stage. There are good tips on managing time and breaking working habits which are very useful. I would recommend this book to anyone who is feeling stressed for whatever reason.

fantastic book
brilliant book, this book was recommended to myself by a health care professional, i have suffered with post traumatic stress disorder, after being involved in a bad car accident. this book has really helped me and i continue to use it as and when i need a bit of support, this book is for everyone, we all go through ups and downs in our lives, this book is a great guide and offers good positive advise, i would strongly recommend Manage your mind, it's fantastic.

Excellent book
Brilliant book, it has helped me a lot. It's a nice thick book, with quality pages and print. Easy to read with text book examples throughout. Amazing value from the seller with fast delivery, I purchased two books, one for a friend and both were great condition as well.
