Ling & Ting: Not Exactly the Same! (Passport to Reading Level 3)

CB, 8 years old. I like this book because it is funny and short. I like the Mixed Up story.

My 4 and 6 year old love to read this book over and over again. It is whimsical and a great reminder for them that siblings are different.We have the Ling and Ting Share a Birthday book too and they ask for that one before bed too. I love how they have short chapters that are ministories. I hope Grace Lin will write more of these Ling and Ting books, they deserve a whole series and she would have a guaranteed following!

This was given to my daughter on her 2nd birthday. I think we waited until she was about 2.5 before reading it to her and she loved it right away and thought it was really funny (It is!). She's now 3.5 and we still quote the book and make references to it all the time. Very cute illustrations and chapters that can be enjoyed by kids and adults, too. Love all of Grace Lin's books but this is still one of my favorites!

The book is so silly and funny with a big lough out loud moment in the middle. The characters are so likable and relatable, my son wants to know about other parts of their lives. We immediately bought the other books in the series!

My first and second grade readers really enjoyed this book. Several times they laughed as they encountered the antics of Ling and Ting. Even though this was a 3rd grade level book, my students still could read most of the words and got the meaning of the stories inside. I like how one story built on the other. My twin 1st grade female students were especially excited that this was a book about twin girls.

This book is the perfect level for my first grade rising readers. The book includes feelings and stories that the students can relate to. There are also many words that they can read on their own. Thanks Grace Lin!

A good book that my 6 year old loves. There's several stories in it so there's flexibility to read all or just some at a sitting. We will be getting more ling and ting for sure!

By Char age 6: I liked Ling and Ting (Not Exactly the Same) by Grace Lin. The sister's haircut part was funny. They were fun, cute sisters. It was interesting that one of them ate with chopsticks. I loved how the sisters liked each other.

These books are so boring. I don't mind reading certain children's books over and over again, but these ones? Ugh. I hoped for something a little more imaginative for my twins.
