All-around great knife at a good price
Thin and fits nicely in a back pocket. Clip makes it easy to access. Blade holds an edge pretty nicely, but is still easy to sharpen. Blade doesn't chip out like some Bucks I've owned. Handle seems durable. Bolster still tight after a few months of use.

New look to an iconic pocket knife
If there is a knife company that knows how to make pocket knives, itโs Buck. Nearly everyone I talk to who owns pocket knives is familiar with Buck knives. The older generations swear by it and its ability to tackle everyday tasks. I owned a Buck 110 hunting knife for a few years but found myself not carrying it often. This was due to its weight and lack of a pocket clip. Overall, it was a great knife and I wanted to every day carry it, which is why I was very happy to see the Buck 110 Slim a few weeks ago. I was impressed by the quality of the knife right out of the box. The edge was shaving sharp and the blade locks positively. There is no blade play whatsoever. The pronounced Thumb studs allow you to open the knife one handed, with either hand. The only thing I would change about this knife to add a metal liner under the polymer handles. I feel like the addition on the liners would provide additional strength to the knife frame. However even without the liners, I am confident that the knife with be able to provide a lifetime of service. With its light weight and deep carry pocket clip, which is one of my most favorite features, this knife will most definitely be carried everyday and see many tasks. Pros: โข Lightweight โข Deep carry pocket clip โข Ergonomic thumb-studs โข Positive lock up without any blade play Cons: โข No metal liners under the handles Overall I really like this knife, itโs a keeper for sure!

Good Feel
I received the knife this afternoon and I am very happy with it. It is thin and light weight but feels rugged and well balanced. It lacks the look of the traditional brass and wood but it is not bad looking. The pocket clip is sturdy. Of course, it was sharp right out of the box.

True Buck quality.
Buck's stainless is excellent. The lock on this is solid--way better than a liner lock. It's thin so it rides in your pocket almost unnoticeably, except for Buck's big ugly pocket clip. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that it's too thick in the blade. It's hollow ground, but not enough. It doesn't create good wood shavings for fires, nor does it slice summer sausage very well. But it is tough as a nail and holds a great edge.

Good working steel--Nicely made!
Knife arrived in good condition. No worries with blade wiggling or lock function. After reading some other reviews I was concerned about the quality of this model. However upon close scrutiny I found zero flaws. Of concern for me is the "PIVOT RIVET" I will be keeping a close eye on it. Seems like a Chicago screw like that on my other Buck slim 110 (with the harder steel S35) is a better design choice. I bought this one because of my preference for the 420HC heat treated steel. It is a very good working steel that holds an edge for a good many uses and is easily sharpened quickly. Overall weight and balance, grip ergonomics are excellent. This is a good choice for an everyday carry knife and the price is very reasonable. Overall I am pleased with this purchase.

lightweight and sturdy
Kudos to Buck for this one. I just received this knife. Blade is scary-sharp. Spring is strong - maybe stronger than the spring on my 70's-era Folding Hunter 110. I'm able to open this knife with good control with my right hand (I'm right handed). Opening with just the left hand is going to take some practice, or for the mechanism to loosen-up some. I can open it with my left hand, but I struggle a bit at the point where the knife is about 35% open. I docked it one star on the "ergonomic" rating because - out of the box - I really need to use two hands to open it safely when my left hand is used as the gripping hand. Pocket clip is very secure, and holds the knife so that the rest of the knife is 99% concealed in a jeans-pocket. After having handled only full-weight 110's, this knife is lightweight, and slim. But for the shape and size of the blade, you would never think it was a 110. The axis of the blade is secured by through-rivet that seems to be supported by a steel ferrule. Mechanism is not sloppy or loose whatsoever. Seems plenty sturdy for what this knife tries to be. Excellent value in a knife for the price. And its a Buck, so there is the customer-support (if you ever need it) behind the knife. I really like this knife. Although, I do still REALLY WANT the automatic 110. If only Buck would offer this knife in the lightweight configuration AND with the automatic function. Someday?

Poor quality
I have a lot of Buck knives. I purchased 3 of these trying to get something with decent quality. The first one never arrived. The second one had a large gap between metal and grip and third one had a loose rivet that the blade pivots on. The blades were very sharp but not centered at all. I liked the quality of all the materials but they are not being assembled with quality control in mind. I hated to do it but ended up with a different brand that had very impressive quality.
