This is a great workbook for phonics review. I'm using it with my 3rd grader. The lessons are straightforward and clear, without the distraction of cartoon characters and colors etc that many other books have. My only beef is that the title of the workbook says "For Struggling Readers" in big bold print on the cover of the workbook. That's not a message I want to send to my child - that he needs this book because he's 'struggling' (when in fact, he is an excellent reader, but needs practice with phonics rules etc). To avoid this unfortunate label, I just copy the pages on my home copier to use each day (the copyright states that pages are reproducible). But I do wish the publisher would edit the cover wording so I could use the workbook as intended.

Wow! I used this book with a 3rd grade struggling reader and she did a complete 180 in just a few months. Her understanding of phonics went through the roof. We did two-three pages together each week and she did one exercise a day on her own. I was incredibly pleased with the amount of practice for each skill.

Seems to be just what i was looking for to help my struggling reader.

This has proven to be very useful in improving the phonics and thus reading ability of a boy we know.It look very useful when I read through it and based on the experience of the boy, I recommend it highly.

Great book. Teaches a wide variety of reading and English skills. Interesting store lines and games. Grandson loves it.

These have been great to use with my son. He hates reading and is finally understanding why it is important.

This didn't help at all. It is more for reading comprehension issues and not learning to read. My daughter comprehends but struggles sounding out the words and actually reading..... I guess we needed more of a phonics based program. This contains VERY little phonics.

Bought for my 8 year old she having so much problems with reading and site words. We have went over several activities and it is helping her out.

I am tutoring an Hispanic young man and this is a perfect book with lessons on vowels and consonants and all kinds of phonics exercises. I will be ordering more.

Very thin book. I went to used book store and purchased a teacher edition work book.
