Perfect tent for week-long rainy family camping trip in mountains
**EDIT** I bought this tent for $121, now I see it's at $100 - BUY THIS TENT NOW! :)We took this tent for a week-long family car-camping trip in the Smoky mountains and it was GREAT. Here's what I think about it:1. Not recommended for 8 people - that would suck. We had 4 people with 4 twin air mattresses and it was so much more pleasant to camp in this than in smaller tents we've tried. It's nice to be able to fully stand up in the middle of the tent. Plenty of room for gear.2. It rained for 36 hours straight, and only a tiny bit of water seeped in at the very ends that aren't covered by the rain fly - but that was easy to just sop up with a towel or whatever from time to time. It wasn't very gusty though so I can't say if it would hold up well in high winds (but I imagine it would be OK). We didn't use a tarp as a footprint - just set it up and it stayed much drier than I anticipated (thank goodness).3. It got down to the low 40's at night but it didn't get crazy cold in the tent. We opened the two side windows during the day and it was perfect.4. It was very easy to set up and tear down. Just pay attention when you're setting it up to how it's folded so you can fold it up the same way and it will definitely fit back into the carrying bag very nicely. It can be confusing if you don't remember how it was folded in the first place.5. Great price! I've camped in way more expensive gear from fancy camping gear stores and besides the zipper mechanism, I have no idea why in the world the other companies get away with charging 4 times as much for their tents. This was perfect for our camping week. I think Coleman brand has come a long way since the early days of leaky tents and inferior products. I was hesitant to get this tent at first but now I'm really glad I did instead of spending a bunch of money on a fancy brand!

Best review opt ever
I read a many tent reviews for weeks before we purchased this tent. I thought the price and reviews seemed too good to be true. We did decide to purchase this Coleman tent in June and the tent came to us with a decent hole in the corner right on the seem and many of the other seems with TERRIBLE stitching holes. I actually decided that in stead of returning the tent, I'd just repair the seems. I got a Coleman tent repair kit and after I tried fixing it, I realized the tent was missing like a 1.5 inch gap of fabric and to fix it would have put too much stress on the tent's corner. It was ironic because we also ordered a Coleman sleeping bag that same day and it also came defected. We returned both the tent and sleeping bag to Amazon asking for new ones and Amazon sent for pick up to our house as well as delivered the new items within a week!! I was thrilled at Amazon but scared of more bad stitching from Coleman. So, the NEW tent arrived and all the stitching looked great. No HOLES! We took the tent with our youth group to a major music festival. We looked around and saw about 10 other tents the same as ours :) In our group, we had varying types of tents but some that were brand new. Here comes the IDEAL tent review opt. That night, we got poured on! We had 40+ MPH winds, TERRIBLE thunderstorm, etc.. it was so bad, ha ha! talk about camping misery with two toddlers and being responsible for 20+ teenagers- we can look back now and laugh :)The damage: Our tent became unsteaked in a couple of corners throughout the night and the tent wanted to collapse on itself but didn't. My husband had to restake the tent about 6-8 times. Rain trickled in on 2 of the seems after a couple of hours(We did do 2 coats of tent sealer on the seams prior to camping). Also, the tent itself on the sides had some moisture amounting so there were some drops coming in from that. After another few hours and the ground was saturated, water started to come up a little bit through the far corners of the tent so a towel was required in each corner but still the rest of the tent remained dry. I kept telling my husband, "So much for the water-proof technology of Coleman"- But as morning came and we were able to step outside our tent, we looked around and tents were down at the festival EVERYWHERE! We saw people POURING water out of their tents, people packing to leave, tents collapsed, broken poles, etc. It was crazy. In our camp, all of the other tents (8) had ALL their luggage soaked through. Every tent needed to be drained of water except ours. I looked at our 4 towels in the corner and was amazed at our tent standing, mostly dry! As I walked around later that day, I noticed all the other RED CANYON tents were up and appeared dry :) My husband and I were like, GOOD BUY!So, the size is awesome, assembly is pretty quick but needs 2 people for sure, the room-dividers and storage compartments are a huge plus, take down is fine but getting it back into the bag requires some patience :) I have told many people to buy this tent.. We're actually going to buy another one to have in a few years when this one has had it.Assuming that your tent doesn't come with whatever random defect our first one did, this tent is an amazing buy!!!!! We have just my husband, 2 kids and I but I would say this comfortably sleeps 6 adults. Once again, AMAZING BUY.
