I bought this case for the daughter of a neighbor, who is going away to college for the first time. Why a jewelry case? Because I thought it would symbolize her "arrival" as a grown woman. Ah, but, why this particular case? Because it was one of the very few I saw that was upholstered with genuine leather. I must have previewed 100 cases that were well-made and thoughtfully designed, but they were all covered in vinyl. These were called "vegan leather", or some other epithet, but it comes down to plastic, no matter what they name it. And, plastic eventually dries out and cracks, making the case look shabby (but not chic!). I wanted to give this young woman a case that would last for decades; something she could use with pride well into her 30s, maybe even longer. If you want a case that you will use and use and then use some more, I would strongly recommend a leather-covered case over one that features plastic; and Wolf offers one of the most elegant and stylish cases that you will ever encounter. It will provide years of good service. P.S. The color of this case is the *perfect* red: not too bright, but not at all dull or flat. It made me think of a perfect red lipstick.

The leather is beautiful and the metal work appears to be sturdy, plenty of well-organized room. I have only one disappointment. I'm not sure why the craftsman would create such a lovely box over cardboard. The fact that the drawers are clearly not a strong wood is surprising. Other than that, it's lovely.
