Ruby Charm Colors Adult Coloring Art Journal Volume 2

Volume 2 of RubyCharmColors Art Journal is just gorgeous. The must have companion to Vol 1, this art Journal features 24 pictures to color, journaling pages so you can record your mediums or try out colors before applying to your picture and blank color charts to use for reference. Each picture has a brief description of where Susan Carlson's inspiration came from. I've use many different mediums in the book. The paper is good and handles pencils, pastel pencils, and pens well. If using a water medium the paper handles very light water application. Highly recommend this book (as well as Vol. 1) for the adult colorist. I've attached some of my personal colorings.

The same comments I made in my review of Volume 1 also apply yo this book. Very high quality art and many useful suggestions for trying new techniques. I love it!

I love this concept. This journal has really helped me organize my supplies. The artwork is conducive to experimentation, and This has helped me build my skills.

The ghastliness of this paper cannot be overstated. The quality is slightly worse than newsprint and a miniscule step up from toilet paper. I tried several different media--colored pencils, gel pens, and a touch of watercolor. Layering pencil is virtually impossible, and everything else bled through the page.I finally gave up trying to use the book as-is, and took the book apart to scan the pages. As the pages were waiting to be scanned, the paper...curled up from...I don''t know...misery? The air-conditioning was on, so it certainly wasn't from humidity. I ended up having to weight the stack of waiting pages with my trusty unabridged dictionary.Having said all this, the book is worth buying for the exquisite artwork, clearly created with an abundance of imagination, care, and superlative artistic sensitivity.

Will NEVER buy again,there were only a few pictures you could color!!! 98% of book was filled with nonsense. Wont buy again

Von den ganzen Motiven her ist es ein wunderbares Buch, man freut sich auf das ausmalen. Leider ist das Papier sehr dünn. Die beiden Fotos sind von den beiden Seiten eines Blatt Papier. Der Versuch einer Blase wurde mit normalen Buntstiften gemalt, auf der anderen Seite, die Feder, wurde mit Gelstiften gemalt. Wie man sieht schlägt beides durch. Bei den wunderbaren Motiven ist das einfach schade, an der falschen Stelle gespart.Ansonsten finde ich die Idee dieses Malbuches sehr gut. Auf einer Seite ist das komplette Motiv zu sehen und auf der gegenüber liegenden Seite sind noch mal 3 Details extra zum ausmalen. Trotz des Mancos das Papier betreffend werde ich mir auch den ersten Teil noch zulegen, die Motive sind einfach schön :)NACHTRAG : Die Hauptbilder weiter hinter sind auf der Rückseite schwarz und somit fällt es nicht so auf wenn was durchschlägt. Auf den Fotos das sind Seiten von ganz vorn im Buch und die sind weiß. Ich war zu voreilig. Das Papier ist aber trotzdem dünn und daher bleibt es bei einem Stern Abzug.

I absolutely love this book! I am proud to say I own all of Ruby Charm Colors books and these last two are just amazing books!! The extensive write ups along the giving ideas and tips on colouring are awesome!! Love how these books have been put together with the test pages on the left side to the actual illustration on the right side. The extra colour charts at the back of the book are genius!! I use mine to swatch and test out and then tag for my own self which chart I used for each illustration. This particular illustration I used Arteza Expert Colored Pencils with a Tombow Colourless blender Dual-tip pen.I highly recommend this book for all colourists, from beginners to expert level!! They just amazing and can’t wait for Art Journal Vol 3 to be published!!!

Es original...pero tiene pocos dibujos...un chasco...!

Commmentaire pour les volumes 1 et 2. Très beaux livres de coloriage. Dessins très originaux et des pages d'entraînement. En photo un exemple de ce que j'en ai fait.

Much, much more than just a colouring book. This has tips and hints and practice pages, colour charts and loads of gorgeous illustrations apart from the 24+ full size beautiful whimsical main pictures. I fell in love with this beautiful line art which is both detailed and magical.
