Sara Bareilles - Kaleidoscope Heart Piano, Vocal and Guitar Chords

I was hoping for a music book that gave the piano without the vocal melody written in, and was disappointed. YMMV if you want to have to play mental eraser to get a genuine piano part. If you listen closely to her songs, the piano rarely echoes the melody, but as written in the book your hands are stretched to the max to play both the melody and piano part.

I absolutely loved Kaleidoscope Heart, and I am a pianist and a little bit of a guitarist, so I said why not? I bought this about a month or so ago, and have enjoyed it very much! The transcriptions for a lot of the songs stay consistent and accurate to the original album music. The piano pieces for most of the song are the same as the album, though some only have half or none of the original piano pieces. That is the one fault. Some of my favorite songs on this album did not have the original piano work, or only had part of it. I was somewhat disappointed by this, but this was redeemed by all the totally accurate transciptions. So, I would recommend this to anyone who liked kaleidoscope heart, and who would like to play her music. This book is great, especially for those like me who want to play and sing along! :)

The music itself seems to be pretty on and good. MAJOR CAVEAT: I ordered this as a kindle book as I'm traveling and didn't want to add more "stuff" to my haul. BAD IDEA. I can't properly zoom in on my laptop so I can actually READ it. You really can't print it either as it prints like half page sized. Super disappointed. I basically have to save and do a bunch of manual tweaks to every single page if I want to be able to actually read it. :( Wish I'd just ordered the paperback. Of course, if someone has feedback or a tip on something I might be missing, that would be great! I don't have a kindle, just my phone and laptop.

These transcriptions are TRULY accurate. I learned almost every song in this book, and played along with the CD, and this is truly exactly what she played. ARTIST APPROVED for this book truly is that.This is NOT a beginners book. Some of the chords are quite intense, and the left hand is not your typical bass undertones. The left hand is where Sara does more of her "melodic" playing and rhythms. The right hand is for chords. Would suggest for intermediate or advanced piano players.Bought Little Voice and now Kaleidoscope Heart both by Cherry Lane Music, inc. Both were artist approved. And both are EXTREMELY accurate. Would recommend this book, Little Voice, and Cherry Lane Music in general (have bought 1 other book from them). Great company.

Love this album and the songs are true to it! You’re not playing the melody- ever. Just her piano slightly simplified but great for intermediate players.

I love love Sara Bareilles and was stoke to find this book online. Unfortunately, if you want to sing along with the piano playing, it's pretty hard since the composition is identical to the words that need to be sound. Not composed well for singers.

The best thing about this book is that it is a great representation of what Sara plays on her albums. As a professional singer/piano performer, it's often frustrating that most pop music piano/vocal/guitar books really fall short in the piano accompaniment category. But Sara approved the book herself and the accompaniments are great! Highly recommend this.

I highly recommend the Kaleidoscope Heart piano book. I've never taken formal lessons and with the chord charts and tabs incorporated into the music, I'm even able to play through all the songs in the book. I love Sara Bareilles's simplicity and beautiful lyricism and this book is definitely my favorite purchase yet.

Very happy with this purchase! I can finally play along and sing to her songs. The pieces are exactly as on her soundtrack, and are probably intermediate level difficulty.
