It is worth mentioning that the product was redesigned at some point in the past two years with much heavier duty bolting to the wooden base. The new bolts go all the way through the base (uglier, but much stronger).I only weigh 130 lbs and I managed to break the original design by wiggling around (ADHD)... I liked the chair a lot and the price was right so I actually bought another one (knowing to be more careful), to my surprise the base assembly is much stronger and I could never reproduce that sort of failure.Long story short, the weight capacity may have changed with the silent redesign.

To be honest here I am not a thin person and find that if I drop something on the floor I best get up out of the chair to get it. Have had it start to tip multiple times when I would reach for something on the floor. Not sure what would happen with someone not as "thick" as I am.

more than you have this is in my opioion not a good buy the chair is not leather as it leads you to believe and the thin coating of pleather peels off in a short amount of time the swivel is plastic and cracked I would not buy this again

Q: Is it possible to purchase the ottoman by itself?

that I am not sure of but I can say that I would not but this chair again and can not recommend it it is not leather and the fabric peeled the mechanics is poorly made and the swivel cracked shortly after purchase not a good buy
