Product Registration - Free Replacements for Life Promo
I bought two of the shavers for my sons largely in part due to the promo of free replacements for life. When I went online to register the products, the URL reflected for the online registration does not exist. While the shavers work great, I'm disappointed that the promo is not available. I most likely would have selected different shavers had I know the promo was no longer available. Probably should have researched it more closely knowing that the reviews online were from many years ago indicating that the product is old.

Fantastic Shave Excellent Value
This morning, (4/1/2016) my shaver died. When I went to use it I got nothing. So I plugged it into the charger and the charger into the wall and came back an hour later. Still completely dead. I called Wahl and found it's still covered under its 5 year warranty (nice). So today I will return it to Wahl in Sterling IL (at my shipping expense). But I have to note that in 30+ years of using electric shaves, this is the first one to simply die. So my formerly 5 star review is cut to a three star due to lack of reliability. My original review follows....--------------I am totally impressed. I have been using an electric shaver for 38 years. I went electric shaver because I was a "cutter". My first was a heavy (!) corded Remington from about 1970, that was my Dad's. My most recent was a very nice (and expensive) Braun. But I have given up on Braun. The newest replacement head redesign is a bust, resulting in a poor shave. And replacement blades cost more than $20.00!I had never heard of Wahl. It seems that these guys don't do mass market advertising. It's an American company that is a professional barber equipment maker. But the Internet is a fantastic thing. They sell several men's shavers, and one or two of them are American made.Anyway, the bottom line is that the shaver is fantastic. A close comfy shave, a kit full set of trimmer attachments, free replacement heads for the life of the shaver, a 5 year warranty, hair cutting attachments, and it costs about $80.00.What about the fact that it assembled in the USA! Added bonus: the instructions are in well written English with diagrams that, while small, are very easy to understand. And with something like 50 trimmer and hair cutting parts, this is important. I can't say how tired I am of instructions that are either written in "Chinlish" or nothing but a bunch of useless non-text and impossible to interpret "pictographs". Not here. You will actually read the instructions and understand them.Accessories: The shaver comes with a cheap black plastic tray stand. It will hold the shaver up on its end, the cleaning brush, and about 5 of the many trimmer and cutter accessories. I keep the cleaning brush, nose hair trimmer and a couple of the other smaller trimmer heads on the tray. The rest of the parts, which you won't use most of the time, are stored in the black nylon pouch that it came with. You won't use the cheapo plastic comb that comes with the set. Wahl ought to delete the comb and increase the size of the small container of oil.Other odds and ends:You can clean the shaver head under running water. This means no more "clean and charge" kits at additional cost. The charger cord is inconveniently long and not coiled. It has a small "wallwort" for a power supply. It is noisier than my last shaver, but not unpleasantly so. It is very, very light. In fact it is so light that it feels "cheap" at first. But the light weight makes it easier to use and it feels solid in the hand; and no less sturdy than any other shaver I've had.Why didn't I hear of this company 38 years ago?

Awesome!!
I needed a trimmer... nose-hair / mustache. I ordered this because it was made in the USA I am a fan of WAHL products.I have had it and used it now for 3 months. I replaced my Norelco shaver... and my plug-in Wahl hair clippers with this one set. :)The charge time is unbelievable. It has plenty of power and does a GREAT job.You have to get the hang of changing the heads.... and you need to be sure to snap the shaver closed - it can look closed when it's not completely closed.... you will know if it's rattling it needs to be closed. Also - after using a norelco shaver... the ergonomics of this one are not the same... and I had to get used to using it.... but the shave is awesome!!Those things are user issues... this thing performs as promised and is a great trimmer and shaver!!While shopping and pricing this item - I discovered that this exact model is hard to find. I also found that some of the Wahl products are not made in the USA.If anyone from Wahl reads this... PLEASE STOP using Chinese manufacturers. Americans want to put keep jobs here... and we don't like the idea of slave/child labor. To sum it up - This is a great shaver and an awesome trimmer. The charge lasts a looong time, and the torque is more than enough to do the job.All that, and MADE IN THE USA too.Buy this! You will love it!

Worst Shaver Ever!
Let me start by saying I at 42, I have always used an electric shaver. Started with Remington rotaries, and transitioned (about 15 years ago) to the Braun foil & cutter shavers. My last was a Series 5 w/ cleaning station. I would have looked at another, but the ongoing cost ($40 each time for foil/cutter plus $12 for cleaning solution) was in my mind. I saw a TV review show and they happened to be discussing shavers. This Wahl unit was one of the three "top picks" they tested. They showed how quickly this shaved and how close it was - I was sold (literally).Out of the box, the unit made a screeching noise like when machinery is not oiled properly. Applied a little of the supplied oil inside the shaving head (where the parts rotate) and that was gone. What took like two minutes to shave a face on TV turned into almost 45 minutes for me. Seriously? It only took 10 with my Braun unit. And I will say it was a close shave. No razor burn - none of that - but I was used to an electric shave.Day 2 - tried again with the Wahl. Once again 30-40 minutes and not done. The unit at times boggs down like it has no power or is not charged. Well - it had been plugged in for 24 hours - and they claim it only takes 1 hour to fully charge. I don't get that. The head does not have a lit of "flex" like a lot of new shavers on the market - so it does take a bit to get places like the chin area.Overall just very disappointed on the unit. Lacks "power" or something, takes way too long (the rotary heads seem to spin at about 1/3 the speed I remember rotary shavers in the past), and if you are buying for the "free heads for life" - well that comes down to you get 1 head every 18 months and the unit is warrantied for 5 years. So if makes it to the warranty, you will get 3 heads out of it. Odd since the manual recommends changing the head every 12 months. Please put your money into a better unit - not sure what that is yet.
