You know this nauseating stench in some old cars that make you car sick more than the actual movement? This mat will ensure that. I got instant headache per taking it out of the bag. Tried cleaning it with dish soap but after I towel dried it, not only the odor didn't subside, my towel was reeking of those chemicals!Quality wise, the first thing I noticed was that the edges are not well cut, so it looks like some parts were torn out.I wanted to like this mat. My new porcelain raised cat bowls fit perfectly between the beveled art there. The shape is a great alternative to square mats that are boring and take more space with is unnecessary. Alas, onto looking for a better mat.Would NOT recommend this one to anyone who cares about their cat's health and well being. I mean, how can you eat from something that stands on a toxic surface that makes you nauseous?

I was looking for a mat to put my cats food dishes on since they couldn't seem to keep it from ending up all over the floor. Normally I shop for all of my pet products on Chewy but I couldn’t find anything that had a lip around it that was a reasonably price. I found a lot of placemat type products but that wasn’t going to cut it for my messy eaters so I came to amazon and I found this mat had good reviews so I didn’t hesitate to buy it. I love this mat! It’s the perfect size for two bowls I currently have one smaller and one bigger and I was nervous the bigger bowl might not fit but it does with room to spare. This could be used for cat dishes or dog dishes with no problem. It’s a nice flexible material that didn’t come with any weird plastic smell so my cats had no problems using it right away. The design around it is adorable and the lip is deep enough that it catches all of the food from my one cat and most from the other but I don’t blame the product for the remaining mess she’s just an idiot when she eats lol I haven’t used it for water but I imagine it’s perfect for keeping your floors dry. Also I’m amazed at how well it stays in place part of the reason there is a mess with their food is because they play in between meals right around the food dishes and this mat doesn’t move an inch!

This feeding mat is made from thin, very flexible rubber. It has a strong rubber smell that I've been trying to get rid of since I received it a few days ago. So far, repeated washing and airing it out hasn't helped much. I'm a bit worried the smell will put my cat off of his food since it's pretty unpleasant. Because of this, I haven't actually been able to use it yet so I can't comment on how well it works to keep spilled water and food off the floor.

This floor mat is as advertised, easy to clean & protects the floor from kitty or puppy food / water spills; however, after 6 months of use, I have found the bone shape to be a bit irritating because dishes don't stay neatly in their place. The slippery surface, while easy to clean, allows for food & water dishes to be easily moved by active cats, thus causing more spilled messes to clean up. Additionally, the mat slides around on the carpet & tile floors quite a bit, not ideal, so it is best to butting against the walls in a corner.While not perfect for my active cats, I appreciate the ease of cleaning & its durability. After 6 months of daily washing, it is still holding up like new. I do wish there were more sophisticated color options and a regular shape. But for the price, it has been a good purchase.

I bought this mat along with two shallow bowls for the new kittens we brought home three weeks ago. The bowls are ceramic with silicon on the bottom and are a very similar gray color to the mat.These are very functional. Between the non-stick rubber of the mat and the silicon on the bowls, they don't move at all - even with two kittens eating and drinking out of the same bowl at the same time. There have been no water spills at all, which is great since we have hard wood floors that we are trying to protect. The little bit of water that the kittens drip after drinking has been 100% contained by the lip around the edge.It also doesn't show dirt and I just wash it in the sink with dish soap and it looks great.Couldn't be happier!

This showed up months late and for months after we got it, Amazon kept letting us know they lost the package and they didn't know where it was. Not impressed with the seller. The mat is good enough -- plastic smell when it got here, but it does its job. It doesn't have a significant lip so it doesn't really stop food or water from spilling out onto the countertop, but fortunately it is fairly easy to clean.

This item replaced a cat mat that needed to be washed in the washer on occasion. My cat is very messy and I am always cleaning the wet food from the mat. I can just rinse this mat in the sink and put it right back down. The size was also important...smaller than similar mats...as the mat goes at the end of an island and the more rectangular size is great.
