such a good book!
One of my absolute favorites. I don’t even know how many times I’ve read it! I love the fact that there is so much scripture and biblical application. And the story is so beautiful. Lori wick puts so much emphasis on salvation and does such a good job of weaving biblical knowledge into her books. I love it!

The Kensington Chronicles book 1
Great read, this is probably my fifth time reading this book over the years. Its not only a beautiful love story between man and woman but between God and his children. Its fun and intriguing and without a doubt I'm sure ill revisit these old friends again in another few years.

How lovely!
The only bad thing about this book is the name of the lead... Sunny. Now, that is saying something! Because who cares what her name is!!!This is such a great story. The beginning is intriguing, the middle is a combination of emotions, and the end is thrilling!!The beginning: An English toddler lost at sea to grow up in Arabia as Shani, the beloved daughter of the Emir? OOOOOOOOOOOH!!! Her "father" forces her back to her English family with nothing but a short note and an odd gift??? Wow!! I'm intrigued!!The middle: She is scared and unsure of English customs. She went from Shani to Sunny overnight? Poor girl! Strange family, strange customs! Wait, these men only have one wife each? And they seem to LOVE their mates? And every man in the country seems taken in by her beauty and she is afraid of "enslavement" by marriage! The end: She loves WHO? WHO loves HER? WHOA! This is thrilling!! What's going on... this is all so exciting!!Okay, so those are some of the thoughts and emotions you will have while enjoying this very well written, well thought out book. Everything ties together. All of the characters, and I mean ALL, are wonderful. Even secondary characters are well developed. After a very disappointing try at reading "Cassidy," I was a little apprehensive about trying out another WIck book. I am so glad I read this and threw caution to the wind. This is spectacular.

LOVE this book and series!
I read this book when it was first published many years ago. It stayed in my memory as a favorite. I bought the entire series and read them multiple time, which I never do.I have since moved and all my books are packed away until I get my library rebuilt. I was so excited when I found the kindle version!I love any book by Lori Wick. I will be adding all of her books to my virtual library now.

A great book! One of my favorites!
I’ve read this book a few times over the years, and it’s still one of my favorites! You feel like you know all of the characters as your own family. It has a great ending, but it is so sad when the book has ended, you just want it to continue on.

It is an outline of a daydream, and not a fleshed out story
This book had a very similar plot line to many daydreams. Exotic background, fuzzy details, dreaming that we have a funny conversation without thinking what we're actually saying… having the girl be drop dead gorgeous, and yet make her unaware, and mad at all the boys for staring. Etc.It might have turned into something good. However, nothing is fleshed out. We're told that these characters are having a very witty conversation: well, I want to laugh too, tell me about it! Also, all the characters are blank. There's no depth to them, no real feelings that come out. It says they're in love. Well, I really didn't see it! There was no build up, where you could really see them going beyond the sibling relationship they built.Additionally, where are the historical elements? I get that she's raised in an Indian harem. But other than the well known facts that westerners know about India and harems, there's no background to make it realistic (heck, I don't even know if those 'well know facts that westerners know about India and harems' that the author seems to be using are even accurate). It seems like it was just an exotic background that she wanted to daydream about, but did not commit to (again!).Finally, my worst complaint is how unrealistic the Christianity bit is. The focus is all about proclaiming Christ as her savior. But there are no actions that really connect, that really show her conversion in any other way. And there's no build up, just a random night after being told she needs to embrace Christ, where she cries and embraces Christ (after all that time). It's not that the ideas where bad. I could be a good daydream. But as a story in a book, nothing is fleshed out, and everything is forced along. I really would not recommend.

Lori Wick
I love Lori Wick's books - they are an escape without being too far from reality or the everyday problems we all encounter in life. I would recommend sharing them with anyone - I have many of Lori's books and they are now dog-eared by being lent out to so many of my freinds and family. I will certainly not be trowing them out, but will reread them all in time.
