Pierre Deux's Brittany: A French Country Style & Source Book

I live this author and enjoy reading about real French life. The book is older but it is what I expected it to be .

Beautiful Book with wonderful photos, and interesting text. Mine came in collectible condition.. Don't judge this book by its cover photo.

Very well done, great photos

Wonderful book! The photos alone make this book well worth buying! I would call this a travel/lifestyle book with design elements contained therein. The book divides is divided up by the areas of Brittany: La Cote Nord, Mont St. Michel, etc. The book also contains a bit of history of Brittany and gives the reader background about the culture of Brittany and how it differs from other parts of France. It also describes the fishing/seafaring heritage of Brittany. There are great examples of the interior/exterior of homes in Brittany, so you can glean your own design ideas from the photos and text accompanying the photos. If you are looking for a step-by-step/how-to design book, this book will not do it for you. I was looking more for photo ideas and a sense of the lifestyle, architecture, landscape, people, food, customs, etc., so I am thrilled with this book!. Nice text accompanying the photos.Short, but concise and informative. There are several recipes from Brittany that are in with the text as well.There is a whole section of sources for lodging, eating, and shopping in Brittany. However, most of the places mentioned are probably long gone now due to the age of the book.This is a gorgeous coffee table book that makes you want to design your home like the pictures, try one of the recipes, or book the next flight to Brittany!

Not as interesting as the other Pierre Deux design books, but a good look at life in Brittany just the same. If you like "French Country" this may not quite measure up to your interior design expectations.

I enjoy all these books in the series and think they are very informative.
