Easy to assemble. Stained easy. Did a pre-stain, then one coat of provincial and dark walnut, followed by 2 coats of the gel stain. Finished with the polyurethane. Didn’t have any issues with splotchiness.

Great piece of furniture! The wood on this piece is solid wood and not particle board (the only pieces with a thin particle board are the bottoms of the drawers and the back) but the legs, top and draw pieces are extremely solid wood.It was pretty easy to put together once I figured out what each piece was. That's the only downside was that the pieces were not labeled and the pictures in the directions weren't initially helpful but was able to figure it out and put it together in about 30-40 minutes.

Except for the plywood panels in drawer bottoms, this table is real hardwood- a nice change from most pre-made furniture available today in most stores. No dovetail drawers, but still solidly built and attractive. I am a woodworker, and assembly was simple and no problems. I finished it with a simple Danish Oil natural finish sanded in with wet 400 grit sandpaper. Wood is smooth as silk now, and the grain is attractive. Have bought three different items from this company and I recommend all three.

This table arrived in a sturdy box and was well-packed. There was quite a bit of assembly required and the instructions were just pictures, which were not the best, but I finally got it put together after a couple of hours. The wood is very hard and many of the places where the screws went did not come pre-drilled, so I did have to pull out my electric drill to get holes added for some of the screws, but not a big deal. The table is very solid and looks exactly as the picture shows. There's a very slight gap between the top drawer and the table top, but it's minor and since the drawer sits evenly in the opening, it's not that noticeable. I haven't yet stained it. It's a nice height since I wanted something a little taller. I'd recommend this table, especially for the price.

Good solid wood but poor drawer design with regard to assembly. Important: Use smaller diameter wood screws to assemble small inner drawer. Also had an issue with some sort of chemical from manufacturing that became pronounced when stained on one of the side pieces. Contracted manufacturer and received a $10 credit which I thought was cheap. Otherwise I'm fairly satisfied.

These are really great for the price! Only thing is you really should sand it before treating/staining- which I didn’t anticipate. I went ahead and conditioned it, then stained, and there must have been some glue or something rubbed on it at the manufacturer bc there are visable spots that couldn’t absorb anything.

I would rate this as 5 star all the way, except that we had to have some of the cuts (tracks for the wood) made deeper. Two of the cuts were not straight (angled) and it would not fit together. Other than that, it is a nice table. Fortunately we had away of getting it cut, but it was just an aggravation.

I bought two to stain and polyurethane to use for nightstands. The dense wood wouldn’t take the stain very well, so I painted the table instead. It took 3 coats, followed by 2 coats of polyurethane. The inside of the drawers is a bit rough, so I lined them with contact paper.
