It fits perfectly!
I "inherited" a classic Vitamix from a friend, unfortunately the tamper that was originally with it had been damaged then ultimately was misplaced. I had been using the blender but without the tamper it just didn't do everything I wanted it to do. I looked into ordering a replacement and found this to be the best one, it's an original part from the manufacturer so I knew I could trust the quality. Upon arriving, I washed it and immediately made a thick smoothie, this replacement tamper worked like a charm, I am glad I spent the couple of extra $ to get an original part. It fits perfectly.

Useful tool
It’s an excellent and much needed tool. It’s used for the large, taler jug to aid the food into the blades. It’s very important to note, that you make sure to use the tools when the lid is on, otherwise you’ll be like me have to replace your tools cuz you decided to tempt fate and try to use the tools without the lid. The blades are unforgiving for anything in their grip!!!

Unsatisfactory
Love my Vitamix but this is the second tamper I've had in a short space of time as they get damaged by the blades. Vitamin need to rethink the durability of this item.
