Patina Products F100, 30 Inch Evening Sky Fire Pit F100

Absolutely fabulous! The patina gives it a natural earthy look. Deep for large fires but the moon and stars shows the smaller fires, as well. I could the the rust staining a patio but no worries for our location. The cover is nice quality and thick fabric. I just hope it lasts the five years guaranteed not to rust through the bottom.

The rust patina is interesting. Since it is made of fairly thick steel, it would rust over time. It comes rusted so rusting over time would only add to the patina. It comes with welded steel tube legs and it sits fairly low to the ground. My wife and I like the firepit more elevated, so I placed 6" H x 12" W concrete pole barn footer under each leg. Works great for us. Comes with a fire spark cover, a grill grate, a simple fire poker, and a thin cover which I suspect won't last more than two rainy seasons. We'll see.I would certainly recommend this product.

I ordered the Evening Sky Fire Pit on October 11, 2016 and received it today,October 24, 2016. 13 days later. On inspection of the package I realized that I had received a Colorado University Fire Pit instead of the Evening Sky Fire Pit. When I notified Amazon to schedule pick up of the fire pit and to reorder the correct one, I was given an arrival date of Nov.18- Dec. 12. That would be a minimum of 20 more days that I would be waiting! I am very disappointed that I will not have the new fire pit sooner to enjoy the cool fall weather! I am not sure if this is an issue with Amazon or the supplier but it is unacceptable.I am purchasing this fire pit to replace one just like it, so I can offer a review of the actual product. Yes it is rusty, it is heavy and no it is not easily portable. That being said I would not place it on a patio surface that I would be worried about staining. It is larger and heavier than most of the fire pits and fire bowls that you would find at your local big box retailers. It has lasted 9 years uncovered and in the weather. . I am replacing it because a leg broke off. I have chosen to replace it with the same product because I love the rusty patina, it fits perfectly in the wooded area of my yard that it occupies and it is large and deep to hold a fire safely. I love to see the flames dancing through the star and moon design. If I had received the correct product today I would be writing this review with 5 stars but I am now only able to give it one star because of the time I will have to wait for its replacement. Update: I have returned the fire pit and reordered from another vendor that includes the cover for the same price. Hope the shipping time is improved!

bought one of these from from another vendor (one on the left) and it lasted me 10 years and I abused it with tones of fires with little maintenance. Left outside the whole 10yrs and it finally started out on the bottom. I wanted the same one but the vender closed shop and I came across a look alike on Amazon (one on the right). Well thats it, they look alike but so different. As you can see from the photo size matters and the the new one looks like I've had it for 10ys after only 2 fires. Stuck with it now and still on the hunt for one.

I did a lot of research before buying this and decided to spend more money on a quality product. We had wanted to use the fire pit as a grill (it comes with a grill insert), but this will not work unless if you build a BIG fire (forget charcoal). Also, I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong, but the metal on the grill insert came off on the food. Either way, we will only be enjoying this as a decorative item and not as a grill.The design is very pretty, but I would not call it portable- it's very heavy and I wouldn't want to be carting it around. I could lift it myself (it's ~50 pounds), but not without getting the patina/rusty finish all over myself.Be advised that while it does come with a mesh dome to protect you from flying sparks, it does not come with a cover to protect the fire pit from the elements. This would be a wise investment!I like that this product comes with the stand welded into the bottom. I wasn't sure that it would, because on other sites they were charging an additional $70+ for the legs.I have to be honest, I don't think I would purchase this product again. There's nothing outwardly wrong with it- I just don't feel like the quality is so much better than the ones that were $100 or $150 cheaper (and still looked very similar). I'd like to exchange it for something cheaper, but return shipping costs prohibit that from being a cost-effective transaction.
