A cracking book!
Having heard about horses that have learnt to 'fetch' or hold legs up whilst bandages were applied, I wanted to learn more about clicker training. I bought this book not really knowing what I was getting into and with no prior knowledge whatsoever. This book has changed everything. My horse really looks forward to doing the exercises explained in the book and he's alot happier for it!The book starts off with the basics on how to start and builds up to more difficult work (lateral bending/loading etc). Its packed full of really useful hints and tips and is written extremely well (very easy to follow). Its good also because it doesnt insist on you buying expensive 'gadgets' to train with. For target training I use a lid to a supplement!Even if you're only slightly interested/curious about clicker training, please read this book!

Trying anything to help training a badly treated Rescue Horse.
A badly treated horse who only trusts one person is not good but she cannot be blamed as its through fear she panics, and it was suggested to try this system as it has many good results without causing trauma to the animal.

Good book to re enforce groundwork but doesn't cover ridden work
Little disappointed that this book covers mainly ground work and nothing else, a good book to start your horse off with clicker training but when you need the next book to progress to using clicker training when in the saddle be warned it will cost you much much more than this one.So unless you can afford it all the ground work you have done following this book may be for nothing as anything other than mounting is not covered. If you need this book to improve ridden problems first try to source/price the next book which covers the riding element it is quite expensive and difficult to obtain at a good price.

Brilliant
Had read a lot about clicker training and also about Alexandra Kurland. I had high hopes for the book and it is all I expected - brilliant. It is really helping me to teach my horse things and to help him to understand it, by breaking things down as she suggests. And he has not yet mugged me for food, as by following her ideas no treats unless he has heard the click.
