I had previously ordered Yak Milk Cheese Sticks by TruePet and had no complaints; but I ordered these chews because of the smaller size. My Silky had broken a chew in half. Later I noticed the chew was SPLINTERING. My dog must have swallowed a splinter(s) before I gathered all the pieces to throw away. The splinter cut his insides and he had bloody stools for 2-3 days. He's ok now but it was pretty scary for a while. He chews on the TruePet sticks and they just get worn down - NO SPLINTERS.

These don't seem to work for my dogs. Even the malamute that will crush metal cans to get cat or dog food out of them did not think they were worth chewing on until we softened some. 3 of the 4 chewed on them periodically after that but not my 80lb aktia who can demolish a cow knuckle bone. The problem though was that while the pieces they chewed off were not big enough for even the small shiba to choke on they digested so slowly in the stomach the dogs kept vomiting up the tiny pieces anyway. It couldn't cause any intestinal upset because we probably threw as much of the sticks away after coming back up as they actually digested. They do fine with raw bones and only my malamute will break larger chunks off than she can digest. Those chunks have to be 4-5x what they vomited of the yak chews so somehow these digest slower than bone in their stomachs. They also find bones or duck feet worth more effort and longer chewing.

Not only do our dogs love these, but they hold up to their chewing and last. These are the first bones we’ve found that have real ingredients and they can’t destroy in seconds.

Our pugs went nuts on these yak chews!! It was like we gave them dog crack. I normally don’t allow chews or bones in the house because they end up stinking the place up, but surprisingly these didn’t smell so my pugs got to enjoy them for hours inside. Ordered mediums according to what they suggest and they were perfect size. We will definitely be getting more of these. And with the nice packaging will probably be our go-to dog gift for others. Highly recommend!

My pups love these treats, and I love that there's a way to mitigate the choking hazard once they get to be small little bits. Once my dogs have knawed down the yak sticks to small nuggets, I soak in a bowl anywhere from 15 minutes to overnight and then microwave them for a minute. The hard nugget puffs up like a cheese puff and my dogs go to town on the end product - a crunchy, easy to swallow without harm, snack. Plus they're not filled with chemicals and who knows what, so I feel good about giving them to my dogs as a healthy snack. Have been giving them the Yak Cheese sticks since they were puppies and they're both going on 4 yrs old. And I plan to continue. Plus - I get these as a subscribe and save item so the price is much better than what I see in the boutique pet shops.

My dogs could spend a week on one bone. When they tire of "working on it", I remove and sometimes don't give it back for a few days. One can last a month doing it that way. May seem costly, but the time it takes to chew one down def makes them worth it. Word of caution:. My one dog will swallow it whole when it gets to about 1.5 inches and throw it up two or three days later so I have to take it away right at that size. Apparently you can microwave them when they're small and they become a cheesy treat (haven't done that since my 2nd dog will chew it down to nothing)

My dogs loved them but they didn't last near as long as others I have bought. My dogs finished a bone each in around 10 minutes. Not as premium as the ones I've bought from Tomlinson's, so I'll be going back to them.

I have a 4.6lbs Parti Yorkie who is trying this for the first time. He loves it! I got the package July 29th. I gave him one that day. Today is August 1st and he still has a way to go. I haven’t seen any splinters or anything. He’s just shaving off what he can with his teeth. They’re hard enough that he hasn’t bitten through it. I bought the small dog size. It’s perfect for him. It fits in his little mouth just fine. Keeps him from chewing our shoes, carpet and etc ...I highly recommend them for aggressive chewers his size. I love the nice sack I get to keep them in too. I’ll reuse it for other things when we run out. I don’t see that happening quickly. I feel like there are plenty in there. I’ll try to update my review once he’s done with this one to give an idea of how long it lasted. Thanks for reading. I hope this helps someone.Update: 1/16/2020My pup absolutely loved these! He is now 5.13 pounds. I gave him his first one August 1st 2019. He’s now on his last one. 5 months later!He’s still a power chewer. I feel like I got my money’s worth. Still no splinters or anything. He just shaves it off with his teeth.I highly recommend.
