Good Price For Good Lighting
This is a basic cool white emitting fluorescent light. It provides decent lighting for (in my case) hallways and stairwells. I use frosted diffusers to cut any glare as to not be overwhelming. It can be used in most any room but it may not be as desired for some wanting a very bright light.Overall, I'm happy with these lights and saving a few dollars here on Amazon. Plus, I don't have to run to the store just to get light bulbs.

Review for Phillips 391169
Bought this bulb for a magnifying craft lamp. Showed up quickly as promised. Was a little tricky to get back in the three springy holders in the lamp, made me wish I had three hands. LOL Works well. Knowing how Amazon likes to group what they think are similar items together in reviews, I have to wonder if others that had dead on arrival bulbs or short lifetimes of their bulbs are maybe reporting on the dollar or two cheaper off brand bulbs?

0 for 2
I ordered one of these hoping to replace my closet light. When I received it the box was in perfect condition. However, I heard something rattling around inside when I moved it. Sure enough, I install it and it doesn't work. I decided to get a replacement. It just arrived to day... Same thing. I try to install it anyway and it still didn't work.I've ordered light bulbs before and never had this issue. Since the boxes were it perfect condition both times, I have no choice but to blame Philips. I'm sure they get a shaken up a bit during the shipping process, but so? They should be able to handle that. They probably made some decision that reduced quality in order to save a quarter of a cent per bulb. If anything is supposed to be fragile about a light bulb, it should be the glass.I was even thinking of getting some Philips Hue bulbs. However, there is now way I can see purchasing a $50 light bulb from this company. If you're thinking about purchasing this bulb, I would recommend saving yourself some time and just get one at the store that preferably isn't Philips.

Cool white? More like prison lighting. 41K "Cool Blue" is terrible
Wow, as an emergency light bulb, I GUESS it could be used, but the color is truly horrid. "Cool Blue"? It's more like prison lighting (meant to depress you). I never thought the K rating was so important. I bought the 27K "Lights of America 2630b" bulb after this one, knowing this unit (although new) HAD to be replaced...When I changed it, I breathed and enormous sigh of relief. Who knew a fluorescent lightbulb could be so depressing. Think of the worst harsh lighting from a warehouse club or a poorly lit office (mercury vapor lighting in a school gym for example) and that is what to expect. Now, did Amazon do a superb job at fast shipping (as usual) absolutely. Do I generally love Philips products, absolutely. Will I be MUCH MORE CAREFUL about choosing the "K" color rating on fluorescent bulbs, YOU BET!Now I got this bulb for about half of what I would have paid at the hardware store or a depot type place so for $8 it's not worth sending back (it goes in the emergency spare bulb bin!). STAY AWAY from 41K coloring (NOT Philips) you have been warned! I upgraded my initial rating from 1 star to 3, as I don't deem it fair to Philips to 'slam' them as I'm sure it's accurately rated. My initial intent was to make it a 1 star review, to get people to read/head the review, but just deemed that unfair to Philips (as they are generally great)...

Philips Circline Bulb
These bulbs are in all of our walk-in closets. They do last a long time, but as soon as they start to flicker, we order more from Amazon-good price and fast delivery.
