Tulip Needle Company THN-046E Silk Needles (6 Pack), Size #10

I am new to serious hand sewing and these little beauties will take some getting used to because they are so very fine. I have only used about 90 weight silk in them and think that anything heavier would not only be very difficult to thread but may damage the eye. They are steel so do carry an odor. I would be very careful if using thread requiring beeswax as the eye will get clogged quickly. Also I have so far been delicate with them (I have snapped needles) as I do not know how much pressure they can take or need. All of this will come with familiarity. Wonderful addition.

Best needles on the market. I’m a professional embroidery artist and have used many different brands. After finding Tulip, I refuse to buy anything else. I can feel the difference just by touch when I pick up a needle. They make stitching all the more enjoyable. I highly highly recommend! And they’ll last a very long time if taken care of properly.

I’ve used these needles for a while now, they are the best I’ve found for appliqué......with the larger eye, much easier to thread......

I'm sure there's a reason these needles are short (about 1 3/16" long), but it's going to take some practice to get the hang of sewing with them.
