GREAT rain suit, but size 14 did NOT fit a smaller 11 year old??? DO buy this, just allow time for possible size exchange.
I had screened kids rain-suits for hours on end, after belatedly discovering that gs's old rain suit had deteriorated and was unusable, so of course this led to a last minute quest to replace for his imminent week away at Boy Scout camp. I read reviews till my eyes were crossed! Scouts are an active bunch, lots of hiking, climbing, squatting, horseplay, etc, in environments where clothing needs to be durable and not easily ripped, snagged and allows room for layering in cold weather, while also affords breath-ability for safety to prevent hyper & hypothermia... oh, and sometimes needs to be waterproof too! Local stores and sport shops had absolute garbage flimsy rain suits, and hardly anyone carried youth sizes in stock around here, ugh! THIS was the ONLY suit I found anywhere that I felt could best meet the Scouting demands & requirements. Unfortunately, despite his measurements falling well within and under the size 14 specs ( and he was measured correctly by a person who sews clothing very well)....the suit received was too small and tight, even for summer wearing! Per the SWISSWELL ad and their "kids body measurement chart" for size 14, states it fits chest 42.51" ( kid's chest is 34.5", current fitting uniform shirt is 18" pit to pit), chart states the waist fits 27.90"-35.37" (kid's waist is 31"), chart states it fits hips of 38.51" (kid's hip's are 33"). Kid is 4'8"and weights 92 lbs,and he could barely squat in these, they were so tight, and he could NOT try to squat fully in these without the pants straining & restricting him, and looking as if they would tear in the crotch and seat, in fact they got so tight he almost fell over from them throwing off his balance ability. So even with just light nylon uniform switchback pants and t-shirt on underneath, the entire suit was obviously barely fitting his core body and upper legs, and was unacceptably movement restricting. The kid is not overweight and is a bit shorter/smaller than all the kids in his troop... so the size 14 should have been an easy workable fit! Being "too big" is do-able, but "too small" for his core, is not! I could/would have shortened arms and pants to fit, but the main body being to small/restrictive was absolutely & totally unworkable. The entire suit allowed obviously also NO room for any required winter layering, (which according to the specs should have been amply accommodating with room to spare), but no way! I sooo wanted this to fit. These Scout's camp, hike and do stuff outside all throughout the winter, in snow, sleet, and freezing cold rain! They cook outdoors, there is no covered mess hall... the dining room ceiling is the sky and tree branches and accompanying weather, with a tarp lean-to for a bit of "out-of-tent" campsite shelter! They pitch tents in the dark, chop and gather firewood, backpack, do activities...this is no walk around the park wimpy stuff (and they LOVE it, and do it all with the boundless energy and abandon of an 11-12 year old). Sigh, if the suit had only fit it would have been PERFECT in every way. I don't understand, and maybe I just got an oddball suit, but I was extremely disappointed and miffed! And of course their sizes for youth end at 14, as no 16 is listed as available, and a Man's small is ginormous for a youth, and no women's sizes seem to exist...darn it! It just did not make sense! I really wish Swisswell would fill that missing size gap from boys to men, and women need rain suits this good too! Wish the dang thing fit me, cause I absolutely love it!I knocked a star ONLY because of difficult size issues, because when ordering online that is ALL you have to go on, to make buying decisions! If this had fit as per the info provided, it would have been a solid 5+ star (10 star even, if ratings went that high here), rain suit! Returns are always a pita in general, and I rarely buy clothing online because that is the only recourse when not fitting, that and the time factor involved. All I can say is this is a fantastic exceptional rain suit, very well made, extremely well designed, perfect for safety, seems very durable, the material is comfortable, and the green color with safety reflective areas,,, everything is perfect for Scouting use...but if you are ordering ( which I recommend you DO choose this rain-suit), PLEASE allow lots of time to exchange due to possible size issues. SCOUT ON!Also the company reached out to me on their own initiative, to offer assistance any way they could. I was duly impressed by their exemplary level of customer service and also the companies satisfaction commitment, amazing actually!

I bought the Swisswell Hooded Rain Suit for my 11-year-old's Boy Scout camping trip. It fits great! I ordered a Size 10 and he is 56 inches tall and 83 pounds. There is room to wear a sweatshirt under the jacket for chilly nights.

Buy this rain suit. Perfect!!
Rarely do I take the time to write a review, but this rain suit is amazing. I bought it for my daughter, who always seems to be playing lacrosse in the rain. It has proven to be one of my best purchases ever. The elastic on the hood and the adjustable sleeves, hood, waist and ankles fits her tall, skinny frame and keeps her dry. The little brim on the hood is also a great touch. We recently wore the coat on all the water rides at Universal and she ended up taking off the hood so she could get wet!

Great rainsuit! I purchased the size 10 for my 8 year old and the size 8 for my (almost) 6 year old. We sized up with the intention of giving them some growing room, and I would say they were probably still a bit on the big side if I'd had my 8 year old wear the size 8. No problem for us though, just gives them more wear time. The cuffs on wrist and on the ends of the pants have elastic so it was easy to get a good fit despite being a bit big.My boys wore them all week in Colorado through rain storms, and played in streams, and they stayed dry. Even hiking up a mountain and being rough in these suits didn't result in any rips. These are MUCH better quality than the Frog Togs brand. I only wish they had smaller sizes for my youngest son.

Didnt receive the pants and hood defective...seems good quality?
Quality seems fine for a light rain jacket. Does, run little small so i would order a size up. I ordered a whole rain suit for my son with pants but they onlyvsent the jacket.I requested an exchange. My son wears a 8 i ordered a 10 and it fits perfect. Had they sent the pants and snaps worked. I would've given this 5 stars. Also where the hood snaps around the mouth was defective. They put 2 Velcro piece on each side instead of one side that is bushy to hold it together. But they were very accomadating in making an exchange

Took the suit fishing for 9 days. My 6 yr old wore it in the boat, jumping around, laying and playing on the plywood in the bottom of the boat and they held up great. We even had the top zippered up quite tight over a lifevest and the seams didn't tear. Kept him dry and dried quickly. Will be able to use again next year. Highly recommend!

This set is very well made and has nice details that you usually only find on more expensive gear. The fit was perfect for my slightly-taller-than-average son. We usually have to make a trade-off of either having the legs and arms a bit short in order for the waist to fit, or having the waist large in order to gain an extra inch in length. These are perfect.

I got this for my 11 year old to go to camp. The gear works great, doesn't feel cheap and seems to hold together well. We bought a stuff sack to put these in while he was at camp. Fast forward a couple of months to Football season, we happened to have this in the back of the car and my daughter couldn't find her poncho so I grabbed this gear - she is 9 and it looked like it was made for her! If I were to buy it again (which I would without hesitation) I would buy one size bigger than it states and it would have been perfect!
