Old El Paso Soft Taco Bake Dinner Kit 8.4 oz Box (pack of 6)

We used to pick this product up retail but it seems all three stores we patron stopped selling it within the same week. I suspect collusion on their part... Anyways I was thrilled to find that Amazon not only offers the kit, but at a subscribe and save discount.Some have mentioned that you could piece this together yourself cheaper/better/healther, and that is a valid point, but one thing you cannot buy in a store (I've looked) is the old el paso somewhat spicy cheese sauce that you cover the top tortilla with. Without this sauce the kit is worthless, it's a great balance of spice and salty cheese and comes out so smooth when baked. I usually separate the bottom two and top two layers of my portion, I eat the bland-er bottom layers first (with frank red hot sauce) and save the top layers for last since this concentrates the cheese flavor even further.This is also a good dish to experiment with. Adding some black or pinto means to stuff the layers more, or whatever shredded cheese might be lying around the fridge, is a great way to increase it's yield and flavor. Between me and my girlfriend we split one of these for a meal, it's probably our entire sodium intake for the day in one meal (maybe 2x) but I can see how adding some sides like refried beans and rice would let us feed our family of 4 when the time comes. (Luckily the little ones are still at the formula/baby food stage, so we can hog it all)Overall, if you haven't tried it yet and as such aren't addicted to the cheese sauce, make it with your own ingredients, if your already hooked then this is likely the cheapest way to get your fix.P.S. I do have to mention that the S&S price did just jump up about $5 in one month (from 10.80 to 15.08) but at almost $3.xx a piece retail the price still comes out better from Amazon.

My family really enjoyed this product and we will be using it again in the future.This was the first time I had ever considered using online shopping for any of my food. Amazon Grocery had a pretty good selection of dry supply items. Everything that I ordered came nicely packed and wasn't damaged at all. These items where very easy to make and they all tasted great. When I made this purchase I had a coupon for $25 of on an order of $75 or more. It was really nice that Amazon kept track of how many items you had in your box and how much space was left. Each item also showed how much space it would take up in the box, so you had an idea of what else might fit in the box. After I had the box completely filled I simply checked out as usual and a few days later it showed up at my houseOverall these items where great and I will be ordering again in the future. What a great way to get your shopping done with out leaving the comfort of your own home.

Very good concept. Good base to mske your own creation. I made it my own. I added refried beans and buttered them on the tortillas. Only need 1/2 can. I then layered the beef and added shredded cojack cheese. Followed same for next 3 layers. Topped with cheese sauce in kit. Biut, it is very salty. Added more cojack cheese and baked. Once baked, I sliced like a pie and added shredded lettuce and salsa or Pico de Gallo. Was very yummy! Great product to have on hand. If you are serving for younger children, taco seasoning is very mild. I will definitely keep it in hand. The tortillas are wrapped to keep them very fresh! Loved it!

This is a product that cracks me up! It is only in our store in the midwest "sometimes." I tried it once and then couldn't find it again. Finally I ordered it on Amazon. This only really makes enough for 2 or 3 people, but it is a flavorful product given that it is in a box. It can be tweaked to your liking. Add cilantro or salsa or sour cream. You can add more cheese, beans or whatever you like to make it your own. What is great is it is easy and less mess for a quick meal. I know it might seem like an odd meal, but it is easy and fun to tweak with whatever you have on hand. Keep them in your cupboard for times when you have to feed a few at the last minute!!

I love Old El Paso products, but I wish I had read the box better before purchasing at $13. It is literally four flour tortillas, taco seasoning, and cheese spread. You can easily purchase these separately and make the same TacoBake Dinner for less.

We originally found these on clearance at Aldi and found them to be amazing BUT as with everything else we find that we enjoy we could not find it again anywhere locally. Amazon to the rescue! We ordered hoping that we would enjoy them as much as before and were not just in the honeymoon phase where we remembered it better than it actually was but oh no, they delivered. We now keep these in stock in our pantry using the subscribe and save and always have a go to meal, just add hamburger (and some shredded cheese to suit our taste) We were a little skeptical about the cheese sauce just because we are not a fan of "nacho" style cheese sauce but the sauce in this product is way better and really what makes the package. Yes you can buy similar products and make your own but you will not duplicate the cheese sauce!

Took a long time to be delivered. Ordered 3 but they were each sent in different deliveries, different days. Only received 2 so far. Hoping the 3rd will come soon bc they are set to expire shortly. Products all received smashed, even though they were all shipped separately. Will update review if 3rd one comes.
