Update- A little over a year later, and we STILL love this game! Our 5 1/2 year old can do all of the puzzle cards by himself if he tries, but it's still fun to do them as a 'ghost hunter team', we just take turns each placing a tile where we think it should go. The first few puzzle cards have some hints to help younger players know where to place tiles, then the hints lessen as you get higher up in the card numbers, and the last few have none making those cards the trickiest. And no matter how many times you play you never remember the correct tile combination on any particular card, so it's always like playing a new game. It really is an awesome alternative to screen time. And just a tip- the puzzle cards do all fit in the hardcase for storage while the tiles sit neatly on top, and there is a clear plastic 'lid' that goes over the top of the whole thing- however, the clear top doesn't click on to the hardcase so we just put a thick rubber band over the whole thing, and it keeps it all together and makes it perfect for tossing in a travel bag or keeping in the backseat for the kiddos. Still highly recommend this game, and any others by this brand!We've had this for one day, and it's already a favorite! Our 4yr old did the first 12 puzzles on his own, and then we did the next 8 or so together. There are over 50 puzzles, and they're all fun & engaging. Kids can work on them on their own, or you can do them as a family. All the puzzle cards fit inside their own little hardcase (which is perfect for travel), and the tiles sit on top. It's such a simple game, yet so strategic & fun! I highly recommend it to anyone with game or puzzle loving kids- or even for adults!

I love Halloween, so this seemed a natural purchase to make for the holiday season. I love the many different levels available for the players. My 6 year old, almost 8 year old, and the two adults in our family are all able to play at our own skill level with the amount of supports we need to be successful. It is soo much fun, and super cute drawings of little ghosts squinting their eyes when the flashlight shines on them. I like all the different scenes. Quite frankly, I could entertain myself for a long time just admiring the different scenes in the artwork. The game is really awesome. I like how the pieces are dark, except for the spot where the flashlight shines on the ghost. Clever, clever, clever. I also like how the supports sort of change as the difficulty level increases. This is a fun game for each member of our family. The children benefit from some "suggestions" on where to put pieces from time to time, but it really does meet a variety of developmental levels. A great, easy to store game for Halloween or any time! Originally I purchased this for an October camping trip because I knew it would be fun, (having a similar game with polar bears and whales) and wouldn't take much space while also being festive to the Halloween season. As it turned out we didn't take our anticipated trip, but it was a fun game none the less! I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys Halloween!

This game is incredible. My 4 year old son is obsessed with Ghostbusters so I knew this Ghost Hunters game would be right up his alley. I was worried it may be too advanced for him but the way they designed the game so it can grow with the user as they learn and advance their skills is outstanding! It starts with all the pieces outlined so they can get a feel for how the pieces fit and how they shine the lights on the ghosts. Slowly as the cards get more advanced they take outlines away. Some cards just show the lights so you have a clue as to which direction it comes from but theres a couple possibilities of which piece that could be. Its really just a phenomenal idea! I even have fun with the more challenging puzzles as a 31 year old. I can see this being a game he can play with for years and years to come. Its also just really great to have a game he can play by himself. I love watching his problem solving skills at work and how proud he is when he figures it out! Bravo, 5 stars!

Really fun and good quality as all Smart Games are, but I did find this particular one a bit less challenging and more focused on the lower age range of the suggested ages. but overall really good and simple to learn

Cute little illuminate-the-ghosts game is super cute. I love the games from this company. Most of the games are made with a base and a fitted, clear plastic cover that keeps everything inside. Great for the car!

This is a simple concept well executed. The puzzles have got a progression, with solutions right on the easiest ones, to teach kids how the game works. There are hints on the medium, and clues on the harder ones, culminating in challenging puzzles without any guidance (it comes with a booklet of solutions if you are truly stuck.) The game is fun for kids and it’s great to see my 5 year old spend time on something that doesn’t require batteries or have a screen. It’s been great to see him feel proud of himself for solving one. My wife and I have been enjoying it too. It’s a nice diversion for an adult, and only takes about three minutes to get the hang of. While it’s not too much of a strain for an adult, every few puzzles I hit one that keeps me struggling for a bit.Bottom line: This is a great product, well worth your money.

We love Smart Games and have a handful of them. My kid is 12 and I’m in my 40s. We love the puzzles and the highest levels are truly a challenge. The easy levels aren’t way too easy but a 4 or 5yo could probably solve them and graduate to the harder levels. I like how they feel as well, as opposed to a game on the phone or tablet. It’s well made. The hardest level (#60) on the ghost game took me a good 20 minutes, I think, maybe 30.

This game is nice and compact, making it easy to travel with.The puzzles offer a variety of challenge levels from the very easy to quite difficult. It is suitable for all ages.The case, and pieces are sturdy. The cards are durable, but I wouldn't say they are heavy duty.I would buy this again without hesitation.

I can think if so many kids who would love this game. The challenges are not too difficult mostly, as it is directed at 5/6 and up. It is a very simple concept done in a very clever and engaging way. We all really enjoyed playing. It is a good game to start with before moving to more difficult one in the Smart Games catalogue.
