Foam Pad for Needle Felting Crafts

These are my favorite needle felting pads. I think I have about 5 of them now in different sizes. If you are wanting to venture into the world of needle felting, these pads are a great way to start. They hold up well and don't slip around on the table. I like them very much. These pads are almost necessary. Using the pad to help you get crisp folds is what makes them so special. Very handy. I couldn't do needle felting without them.

I thought ‘bah, I got snookered’. Tried it—sturdy enough and flexible for piercing ...very pleasantly surprised.

When I started writing this review, Amazon asked me to rate the product according to its value as a toy. I would not call this product a toy. It is a foam pad used in needle felting, and most young children should not be needle felting. Perhaps it is incorrectly categorized on Amazon. For what it is, the product is just fine. It's a plain foam square on which you put wool while felting so that the needle won't go through the wool and harm furniture. Although in the future I will probably just go to a fabric store and buy a square of foam for less money, this certainly did the trick.

I love this foam! I'm new to needle felting so I haven't had to replace a foam pad yet but this one is a good size for what I've made so far. The foam has 'give' but is still very dense (dense enough that I feel safe using this on my lap). This doesn't catch my needle either, which is a plus. To clean the pad I use a lint roller. Good product!

some of my plain wool roving sticks to it but I'm new to felting so it definitely has saved my legs a few times. I do wonder if it isn't good for the felting needles as I've already broken one. Will keep trying different things to see what happens. Overall, as someone new to felting, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I'm new to needlefelting and this is my first foam pad. It works well for small projects like balls, little felt animals, and flowers. Ideally, I'd go for a bigger piece in future so I could hold it more comfortably in my lap while I work. It is a good starting place for this fun (but sharp!) craft.

The listing is a little confusing as some parts of the descriptions have this listed as 8x10x2 and other parts list it as 6x6x2. Like shown in the picture it is 6x6x2, which I found to be the perfect size for needle felting. I have only used it once, but it seems like it will be very durable and I never felt like my project was starting to stick to the foam. I would recommend it.

The picture (rainbow colored foam blocks stacked on one another) is not accurate. What you get is just like the WoolPets Needle Felting Foam Pad - Large product - it is grey and not terribly dense. I do like the pad, but was expecting something different because of the picture.
