Austin AirHealthMate Air Purifier B400B1, Standard, Black 1500 sq feet 3 speed

I'll beg to differ with the reviews that say that this machine is noisy. It has three fan speeds. On the lowest speed, it's quiet--not inaudible, but quiet. I have it in the dining room, and on low speed I can barely hear it in the adjacent kitchen. I turned it up to medium, which is more audible but not unpleasant, although if I had dinner guests I'd turn it down to low. I use it as white noise to mask the sounds of traffic. I have a similar machine, the Bedroom Machine, in my bedroom, where I keep it on low--medium would probably be tolerable, but it's a bit much for sleeping. Toleration for fan noise may be learned--we've had air purifiers for years, and the Austin is no noisier than previous ones, even though it's two or three times the size.

I needed to get rid of a low grade fume, origin unknown. Austin came highly recommended and is a very well built machine; heavy (but on wheels), solid, American made and ready to go out of the box. I was beyond disappointed that the odor remained, but I was contacted directly by a very nice gentleman who did try to suggest things to make it work. We were unsuccessful, but I would still recommend this company and the machine in general, as I think we gave it an impossible task. I reported it as defective and should have checked "other", meaning it just didn't happen to help me.

We have a couple of air purifiers that treat PM2.5 and other things but we were having a problem with formaldehyde I think from a new furnace and air conditioner. This purifier with its activated charcoal filter cleared the air of formaldehyde in short order and we have not had a problem since. Does it all and has a long lasting filter. The comfort of knowing we are breathing fresh air more than justifies the cost. We run it on the medium fan setting and it is fairly quiet. Set up was trivial although the unit is a bit heavy - might want to get some help as it comes upside down in the box and needs to be flipped endo to extract from the box and install.

False advertising states it last for five years didnt last for six months they want you to buy a new 249.00 filter every six months the model # I Ordered dose not match what is on the product And giving us a hard time to return this product

I purchased this unit September 13th by late October the fan started to make a noise. The noise is loud and distracting. It was busy holiday time and I just got around to returning the unit in November and the company wants to charge me shipping to fix their faulty product. When I buy one of the most expensive air filters out there I expect it to last. Very disappointed in company customer service and in the product.

This purchase was a gift that I bought for family. I have 2 of these in my home because I feel they are worth the expense and a must especially during fire season in california!

This air purifier really works and makes life and breathing easier. If you have allergies, you will be happy with this machine.

I had to return this item, simply because I have such a heavy level of smoke that enters my home & I didn’t feel like it was getting rid of it entirely.However, Indoor air professionals was really great & made the return easy. If you are going to buy, I’d recommend using them as a seller!
