Q: Are these suitable for an 8 month old being outdoors for a firework show?

I would say yes for the noise portion of the question. Not sure if the size of the headphones will work. I have a almost 4 month old and they fit her perfectly. She slept through a wrestling event where there is lots of screaming and chanting!

Q: Does this work for plane pressure ? not worried about noise!

I think they are just for noise. But I do know that at take off and landing, sucking on a pacifier or bottle, especially a baby bottle with a smaller hole nipple than usual can help, similar to chewing gum for adults.
