The Titanic of Bollywood
DDLJ is the best Indian film I've ever watched. Seeing the growth of SRK's character and the reunion of SRK and Kajol in the 2nd half of the film was truly unforgettable. The music in the film was also great! Loved the theme song Tujhe dekha to yeh jana sanam

must-see Bollywood classic of all time
a few years ago i wandered into an indian music/movies store and remembered long ago childhood saturday afternoon tv when a bollywood movie would come on. I asked the guy what would be a good movie to see if i was completely out of touch with indian cinema and he gave me this one... and i promptly fell in love with it. Currently (I believe, and there's no reason not to) India's longest-running movie since its original release in 1995, it's a classic romantic comedy with just the right amount of family drama, hectic mishaps, cheesy song and dance numbers and the tug of war between youth and tradition to tick every Bollywood box, and they do it SO well. Let's face it, this is the movie that cemented (if not initiated) Shah Rukh Khan's place in Bollywood's megastar lineup, and Kajol's as an extremely talented and personable actor.

This movie should be in the GCSE/A level curriculum
What a brilliant movie. Raj was so annoying and a git during the first half of the movie but behind the facade, he had some honest qualities and looks after Simran when she is "indisposed". Simran has a natural beauty which has not be spoilt. I was crying while trying to read the subtitles in the 2nd half of the movie, their lines were so touching. The mother's speech about "sacrifice" was brilliant. Look out for Raj's explanation to the father about the doves. The colourful clothes in India were a breath of fresh air on a cold, wet day. I can not recommend this movie enough. My boyfriend and I talked about it for hours the day after. This movie should be in the GCSE/A level curriculum for cross-culture situations.

Completely amazing start to finish
You won't find another movie like this truly was the among the best of its era and you won't find any movies to compare it to. I think this is one of the few movies that truly deserves a 10/10

Excellent bollywood movie
I really enjoyed this movie. Although I am not Asian I also had an arranged marriage and know what it would have been like to go against my parents wishes. This film moved me because I understood the cultural elements. It started off as a bit of a comedy and ended up being a true love story. The only reason I never gave it the full 5 stars is because the music is a bit dated. The cover of the dvd is different to the one advertised, but thats ok. There seemed to be an excellent chemistry between Sharuk Khan and Kajol. Would recommend this movie.

BOLLYWOOD CLASSIC
There truly aren't enough words in this world to describe how much I love my all time favourite movie ever DDLJ.DDLJ is amongst the best movies ever made in cinema, a must watch for all movie lovers out there and especially fans of Srk and Kajol.Perfect in all aspects: acting, music, screenplay, dialogues, direction and choreography. DDLJ rightly deserves being the longest running film of hindi cinema. No other bollywood movie has ever won as many filmfare awards as this classic.COME FALL IN LOVE ................ OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Extremely disappointing!
The heroines father being older obviously knows what's best for her. All because the potential bridegroom is the son of his old friend.Ah yes, the potential bridegroom is quite happy to get to get married. As he says after marriage what's there to prevent him from putting it about with those "sparklers" in England. What indeed? The doormat, wifey will stay in India, of course, and do her duty. Impressive! The heroine's father such an astute judge of character. Thank God indeed, the bridegroom is wholesome Indian born and bred. Not like the wasteral the hero!Strange how for 20 years he has sacrificed himself, denied himself the overwhelming pleasure of actually residing in India. His mother says (yawn, when aren't old people "just about to die") she is about to die and so to rush the wedding so she can witness it.The thought of 10 million makes the potential bridegroom's father glee with pleasure. The potential bridegroom thinks nothing of rounding up a gang, more than adequately armed to attack the unarmed hero. He also thinks nothing of physically beating the hero's father. Ah! Such respect for the older generation. Impressive! The songs are forgettable. There are a few decent comic moments, but otherwise it's not exciting, or worth dragging it out for 3 hours.
