Bee Smart 800 - Ventilated Three Layers Mesh Beekeeping Suit with removable hat/veil

I couldn't be more pleased with this bee suit. I bought it after wearing the jacket type and getting stung through my jeans. I have worn this around 4 or 5 times now during bee inspections and have had no problems getting stung, and my bees aren't the kindest bees out there. I do find wearing a baseball cap on my head helps keep the hat centered on my head and in place. I bought the 4X since I'm 5'8" and could lose a few pounds (cough, cough) and it is a bit large/long on me. But it doesn't bother me at all, in fact I think the extra material helps keep me protected. I don't worry about getting stung anymore. I live in Florida, so the ventilation is a big plus. While it can get warm wearing it, it is much cooler than my jacket one I used to wear and I can feel the breeze if I have shorts on. PS: I would also like to add when I purchased this suit it was $60, price seems much higher now.

I purchased this recently and have worn it 7-8 times so far. I live in east Texas with high humidity and warmer temperatures this time of the year. When there is a breeze this suit feels good but with no breeze it's still hot. I haven't worn any other type of suit to compare it to so I'm not sure if it's cooler than other types. The zippers glide fairly smoothly but have given me a little trouble going around the veil. There is a Velcro piece to cover the zipper and ensure there aren't any sneaky bees that get in. So far I have not been stung and I feel pretty confident that it keeps most of the little stingers away from my flesh. I normally wear shorts and tshirt under this suit. There are straps on the ankles to help keep the suit on your leg as you are putting your feet into boots and thumb straps to keep the arms inside your gloves. Lots of pockets for a phone, tools and gloves. I do wish one of the pockets was a tad deeper for my hive tool but I usually have it in hand anyways. Overall, I would recommend this suit. I don't think you can avoid being sweaty and hot in Texas heat during the summer but it helps to have ventilation!

This is not 3XL. The package says it is, but this is clearly a 2X that has had label added to the package. A 6' 250 lb guy is going to find this 3X is so tight as to be unusable. If your over 6' it is likely you would not fit into the suit.The pant legs only unzip about 4" making putting it on with shoes on nearly impossible. Not the suit to use if you plan on tossing it in the truck and visiting out yards.This suit was returned due to not fitting.

, construction and design. I have not used this suit yet but am impressed with it as delivered. The ventilation feature is wonderful doing a test fit and walking around the house I can feel breezes coming through the layers of open materials.I had a hard time with sizing selection. I ordered size large for my 69" tall, 162# frame with 34" length arms and the suit fits well when only wearing underclothing under the suit. If I were to use this as a coverall type over my street clothes, I would have to order a larger size in all regards.

Sewn on label clearly says XXXXL, sticker and label on bag says 4XL, but if this is a 4XL they must be talking kids sizing. Suit is too short for a 6' person, waist is too narrow, arms are too short. Inseam 31, Waist (stretched) 48, Arm 24, Hat 12". This suit says it is made in Pakistan, same as the Humble Bee 420-XXXL, but the Humble Bee suit (also own) is larger even being supposedly a size smaller. Beyond sizing issue, material seems good quality, short leg zippers to allow going over boots. Would be suitable for a shorter smaller person, suggest replacing the sizing tag with a smaller size (basically order WAY bigger than you need).

I work in Southern Arizona with Africanized bees. The body of this suit is well made. The hat is a bit small for most heads and the mesh used for the face mask is way too thin.I added a piece of elastic as a chin strap to secure the hat to my head and I added metal window screen to my face mask to keep my face from getting stung. Vinyl windows screen would work too I just had metal and decided to use that.

The only issue I have is that I am very tall, so the xxxxl I had hoped to also be a bit taller. I am 6' 3" and 260 lbs. It fits well in all other aspects but is tight from crotch to shoulder, so bending over is difficult. Otherwise I am very pleased with it.

We ordered a 4XL for our son. When it came, it was to tight. We checked the tags and even though the pkg said XXXXL, the tag sewn into the suit said XXXL. We sent it back and again ordered a 4XL. We got the replacement suit very quickly. Again however, same thing. Package said XXXXL, tag on suit said XXXL. I sent a message asking if they REALLY DID carry a 4XL and I did not get a reply. Very frustrating!!
