Way too awkward
I just got it yesterday and I'm not pleased with how awkward it is to use. You have to turn the cup inside out and bend the connection (hard to explain without seeing it). My recommendation is to spend a little more money and get one of the easier ones with the push button. I have one of those for my main dog bottle and will keep this one in another car for a spare.

Like it...but
I think it is a cute bottle. I do agree with others that it is a bit hard to fold out the bowl. I think the main issue is that the entire bottle is kind of a soft material so you can not get a good grip on it to fold the bowl over. But it works. I only tested it one time and both my dogs stuck their noses in together right away. They even managed to drink out of it at the same time although space was a bit tight for 2 doggy noses :-)! But they managed.I have a chow mix and husky and my chow never drinks when we are out and I offer him water no matter how far we walk and how much he is panting. I am hoping that I can get him used to this bottle at home and that he will also drink from it while we are out if he is familiar with it.We also plan on going biking with them so I think this is great to have while we are out instead of squeezing water out of a regular water bottle and most of it ending up on the ground or having to carry bowls and water. Its not perfect but it will definitely work and for the price I am not complaining.Update 7/8/13 : I am still using this bottle and both my dogs still love it. One thing I noticed, it's not sealed very well. If the bottle lays sideways it will leak. We went on a 1.5 hr car ride where the bottle was laying on the floor between my feet and by the time we got to the park it was only half full. Good thing I had some extra water in the truck. But it's probably not a good idea to have it laying sideways. I usually put it in a cup holder now to prevent it from spilling. :)

Very portable and easy to use
I love this water bottle and have been searching for another one like it since I got another dog. I'm so glad I found this one. I love the design, although I can admit I do wish the snaps for the straps to the bottle were more durable, but I love everything else about this bottle. I definitely recommend this product!

Hard to Use and it LEAKS!
I've used the original 16-oz. Lixit Thirsty Dog Water Bowl with the hard plastic cup attached to the end of the lid for several years now (and given half a dozen away to other dog owners, then re-ordered to always have a back-up on hand). It was a great water bottle that never leaked, and you always had a convenient cup available for the dog to drink from when you're away from home. I use a service dog, so the water bottle received daily hard use and the original bottle lasted over 4 years before it got banged up enough to start leaking a little. This new 20-oz. model with the soft rubbery "bowl" on the side (that you have to flip inside-out for the dog to drink from) is a poor replacement for the original 16-oz. bottle-and-cup design. They are two totally different types of water bottle, made by different companies, but both were sold by Lixit under the same name/UPC code.I wrote to Lixit to find out why they changed the design - it was because the original manufacturer was jacking the price out of range for most dog owners. Unfortunately, Lixit kept the same UPC code and name for their new bottle design, which is confusing when searching for a water bottle based on other people's reviews. The original model was great (though the cup was rather small if you had larger dogs). The new model is a pain in the neck to get the "bowl" unfolded and then refolded against the side of the bottle and it leaks like a sieve. You can still purchase this older design by searching for "Water Rover" but it's $14 AND the two Water Rover bottles I just paid $14 each for (Dec. 2010) also LEAK!!! So I no longer can recommend that design either.I solved the leaking problem by going to my local hardware store where there are smart folks to help you out, and bought O-ring washers to insert in the lid. This completely stopped the leaking. I suppose the same could be done for Lixit's new 20-oz. water bottle which leaks terribly (1/3 cup of water leaked out during a 3-day test of leaving the bottle laying on it's side in a ziploc bag), but you're still left with the problem of turning the water bowl inside-out then right-side-in when the dog is through drinking - it's flexible rubber, but VERY DIFFICULT to do.

It's utilitarian
I got this because it was the ONLY one with an actual long strap to put over your shoulder, not a stupid wrist strap...who walks with a bottle dangling on their hand?? And I sure am not bringing a BAG on a 3 mile walk and Chuck It session. This works, having to turn the "dish" inside out is a pain, but it works. Not sure how long the dish will last as it may not take many uses before wearing out and cracking.

All the necessary features
This is the second one of these I have bought....my other one was about 8 years old and the flip up drinking bowl finally split the last time I used it, which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. But I like the shoulder strap since it's easy to take on walks, and it holds enough water for my 2 smaller dogs, plus the little spout just pulls out so you don't have to unscrew the lid, and the bowl is plenty big for them to drink from. I think I got my money's worth from the first one, and expect I will from this one too since it's a decent price.

I wish I didn’t break my old canine
I found this difficult to use and a stupid design. The cap is hard to pull and when you do it comes right out. The dish doesn’t clip on it’s on permanently and you turn it inside out. Like that’s mot going to break then you have to walk around with wet dog slobber water dripping off onto your clothes.

Poor quality on workmanship
The bottle is functional and the idea is good but the plastic cup is not evenly cut. It looks as if it was chewed by a dog. I just now received the product with the chewed up cup. It is a disappointment. I am embarrassed to show it to my friends. I would greatly appreciated if the company would send me a new cup piece to replace the one I have then the product would be representable.

Love this compact bottle for my pup!
Great doggie travel bottle. Puppy has no trouble drinking from the folding bowl that wraps around the bottle. The 20oz capacity was great for long or short walks. I always fill with ice to keep the water cooler longer for those warm days. Wish it had a hook or clip so it was easier to fasten to my belt/backpack, but i can add that myself.
