Works perfect for Ring 2 Doorbell
At first I could not get the Ring 2 Doorbell to work with the transformer. I wired the transformer to the terminals on the back of the Ring 2 Doorbell and the Ring app contined to display "power source battery". I tested the wires from the transformer and I was getting 24v. I placed the resistor which came with the Ring, inline with the power wire and it still didn't work. I tried another resistor which I purchased from Amazon and the Ring still was not powered by the transformer. I ended up taking the Ring apart using a jeweler's Philip's screw driver to remove all the small screws on the back of the ring. The two terminals on the back of the ring push against two spring contacts on the motherboard of the ring. I tested the transformer wires directly against the spring contacts and the Ring was now showing "power source hard wired". I ended up putting some soldier on the inside posts of both the terminals to make them longer so they touch the spring loaded contacts. The Ring 2 Doorbell is now wired!

Great solution for my Ecobee thermostat
I didn't have a common wire for my new Ecobee 3 Lite thermostat for constant power, so I ordered this transformer. Worked great. Added an outlet in my hall closet, and ran the wire up into the attic and then down the wall to the thermostat location. Wired it to the Ecobee, plugged it in, and the Ecobee powered right up and connected to wifi. The 26' long wire is a perfect length if your outlet is some distance away like mine was. I do wish the wire was solid and not stranded, but that did not create any problems at connection to the thermostat. Just be sure to wind the exposed wiring ends. This was a cheaper option than buying a wired 24V transformer by quite a bit, so saved some money as well.

EASY TO USE
I'M USING THIS TO POWER UP OUR ALC SIGHT HD VIDEO DOORBELL. UNABLE TO FIND ANY ORIGINAL TO THE HOUSE DOORBELL AND NOT WANTING ANYTHING THAT REQUIRED BATTERIES, I CHOSE THIS DOORBELL TRANSFORMER. SO FAR IT IS WORKING LIKE A CHARM. CONNECT THE WIRES TO YOUR DOORBELL THEN PLUG THE TRANSFORMER IN AND YOU'RE ALL SET FOR YOUR POWER SOURCE. EEEASY !!

Jumped needed (if your old thermostat has it)
FYI, you need a jumper between Rc and Rh with Ecobee as well if your old thermostat had one if you are using this adapter to power it up.Ok, so I bought this to connect Ecobee lite 3, but I think this would work with any smart thermostat that requires c-wire, which my unit didn't have. Since it was almost impossible for me to go through the hassle of connecting the PEK (Power Extension Kit) that came with the device, I looked for a simpler solution and found that I could just use this 24 volt adapter and hook them up to C and Rc slot to power the Ecobee unit.It worked ad advertised as it turned on the Ecobee right away, but I wasn't able to turn on my A/C at all, and I searched reddit and youtube to no avail. Then, it hit me to check a similar adapter that had around 200 plus reviews, and I searched for reviews that might have some helpful info on fixing the issue I was having. The setup on my old thermostat was that it had wires connected to Rc, G, W, Y, with a jumper between Rc and Rh. It was only after I hooked up a jumper between Rc and Rh that A/C decided to turn on.So, if your old thermostat has a wiring setup similar to mine, make sure to hook up a jumper between Rc and Rh so you can actually turn on the A/C. I am writing this review so others who are in a similar boat as me wouldn't have to agonize for hours to get it to work. I hope this helped.(As for the jumper, if you can use one from your old thermostat, go ahead, if not, just get some wire from Lowes or Home depot and make one yourself.)

Perfect match for my needs
I connected this adapter to an appliance timer and to a sprinkler valve for my propagation fogging system. Works perfect and easy to install.

Does NOT power the Ring Doorbell 2
The marketing description indicates this product will provide power to a Ring doorbell 2 which is either connected to an original doorbell or not. Not so. A voltage meter showed clearly that the correct voltage was being passed through the adaptor so the adaptor itself is functioning properly. However, connecting the wires to the leads with and without a battery present made no difference as the power from the adaptor did not go beyond the leads. Disappointing because it seemed to present a simple and inexpensive solution to charging the battery rather than having to remove it each time a charge is needed.Ring, if you read this, how about some help here - produce an adaptor that will work with this camera - whether connected to a doorbell system or not, and without having to connect a resistor. Thank you.

It does the job
I used this power adaptor to provide c-wire power to an Ecobee4 thermostat. My heating system is zoned using an SR504 Taco box so there are only two wires at the thermostat and no 24V power. This adapter has a very long run of wire which I was able to fish up into the wall to the thermostat while the transformer is still able to easily reach an available outlet in the basement that was quite a distance from the thermostat. There are no problems with voltage drop over the long run and the transformer itself is not generating any excess heat. I've only had it running for a few weeks now but it seems to do the job it is advertised for perfectly.
