Optimizer Starter Pack (3x 40/15mm; 1x Hi-Hat; 1x Ride)

I find the results to be subjective from cymbal to cymbal. I use the hi-hat optimizers. I found the "ride" optimizer to be too thick. The ride cymbal sits too high, wobbles above the cymbal sleeve and begins to ride on the threads of the stand. I found the thinner 40mm optimizer to be more useful under the ride cymbal with a traditional fabric felt on top. Overall, I found 40mm optimizers to be the most useful under cymbals with fabric felts on top. My 18" crash had even weirder overtones with a foam optimizer, so I use felt top and bottom on that one.

As I said on the other package, these make a subtle but noticeable improvement in the tone and sustain of your cymbals. This may not be the highest priority purchase for those on a budget, but they are worth the money in my opinion.

Great product. They made a difference in how my cymbal react to a strike, and how they resonate. They decay seems longer and the highs seem less damped than with felt. It may be the placebo effect, because these little guys are well designed and look durable, I may be giving them more credit than they deserve. Either way, I am happy. One note... when you first put them on, they don't conform to the bell shape right away and make the cymbal bounce on them... scared me at first and thought they were a bad idea. Next day, they had molded to the shape of the bell and sounded terrific. Secondly, I use them on top and bottom of each cymbal, so I need to buy another set. The high hat rings made a HUGE difference! in the control of the top hat going up and down. Very nice!

I'm new to the Cympad family of customers. I've been using these for a few weeks and I'm pleased so far overall. The swing is different. I can't say more natural like some do because my cymbals have been naturally swinging on felt for 30 year like everyone else's has. I was expecting a bit more tonal difference due to the product sales pitch. These don't interfere with the tone overall in my experience however. That being said the improvement on my hi hats is very noticeable. I was not expecting that much of a difference after using them on other cymbals first.

these raise the height of your cymbals off your sleeves to a point where they just barely touch them. I don't use top felts or wing nuts, so that's a problem for me. The product really works though. My cymbals rang out twice as long.

Product arrived as advertised, however one pad (40x15mm) had a gouge on one side and on one edge. Product support offered a gift cert. (I would have been happy with just another pad!) so all ended well.It appeared as though the damage was related to the manufacture or packaging, not occurring in transit.

This is a great new item that seems to be working and holding out great. I have no idea when or IF I'll be replacing these. Perfect!

These Cympads might not look like much, but they really improve the sound of your cymbals.They allow them to ring out beautifully and my hats and ride sound amazing now. I’m using this pack underneath all my cymbals, (as well as for the hi-hat clutch) and I already have a set of red Cympads for the tops to add a splash of colour.Highly recommend these as I notice the improvement in both the live and studio setting.

A huge improvement over stock felts. I bought these after watching a video review, and now use them on all my cymbals. I don't think my band-mates have noticed any difference, but I have, and that's the important thing. I notice the difference most on my crashes, making them sound less gong-ish and more how I like a cymbal to sound. They're weren't cheap to kit out my whole set up, but I think they were worth it.

Great alternative to cymbal felts. Gives firm protection and good tone to cymbals. They don't allow the cymbals to move as freely as felts though. I prefer them under my ride but not crash. Good quality product.

Makes the difference as advertised but not as much as advertised, a little overpriced but in the studio make a massive difference.

Good quality cymbal pads that gave the cymbals a deeper and more civilised sound.
