Christmas Memories Book (Maritime) Hardcover – January 1, 1970

I have just now finished my 2nd of these beautiful albums... that's 40 years of family Christmases recorded in diary style!!! I just wish I'd have found these back in 1970, the first Christmas of our marriage... we discovered our first one while visiting Mystic Seaport in CT in 1981. VERY fortunately however, I thought ahead a couple years ago to order another (our 3rd) while they were still in stock, so I have a matching one on hand and will be able to record our next 20 Christmases, God willing!! (It also motivates me to live up to my ancestors genes and live & be functioning well into my 90's!) My Christmas wish for all readers is to find an album like this and start recording your Christmas memories for your families... it will be a priceless gift for them (and for you!) in the years to come. This is such a wonderful book. I purchased one for myself and it's a Christmas tradition to pull out the book and read through each year as decorate the tree. It's amazing how much you forget from year to year. I love that the book breaks down Christmas into different sections, i.e. Christmas dinner, special gifts, holiday visitors etc. and leave room for pictures. We always include picture of the extended family and ourselves in front of the tree and it's great having a year-by-year picture of the kids in the family growing up. I would definitely recommend this book and purchase it for all of my newlywed friends. The one downside with the binding is that all of the added pictures will probably not allow the book to close flat in the future, but that's a small price to pay for wonderful memories recorded. I haven't been able to find as nice of a book elsewhere.

An older mom mentioned this album and I finally looked into it. I got this one and another too but this is the better of the two. The other was only for 5 years and had a lot of stupid things - recipes, "master Christmas card list", songs, etc. This one is simple and to the point. It has enough pages to cover 20 years. Each year is given five pages to write things to remember from that Christmas. It's fill in the blank for the following headings and each section has basically 1/2 a page of lines for you to jot down your memories:Christmas in the year __Holiday Visits and Visitors_________________Christmas Eve __________________Christmas Day ___________________________Christmas Dinner __________________Special Gifts _____________________Things to Remember ____________________Family PhotographFavorite Christmas CardWhile I haven't started mine yet (because I want to go back a few years), I am not intimidated by it and think it will be easy enough to write a few things down for each year without having to devote hours and hours like some scrapbooks and photobooks require.

I received this book 27 years ago as a gift. I was pregnant with my son. I was diligent smost years but skipped a couple. I filled my book last year with 25 years of memories! I like that it gives me headings to write underneath. I have pictures, cards, invitations to our annual Christmas party -dating all the way back to 1991 in this book! SO this year I was so pleased to find it still available and got my new one- PLUS I ordered and gifted one to my son and his fiance'. It is on the coffee table every year - family and friends love to look back! Now there will be 2. It would be a great Wedding gift also! ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!! Nice quality cover has held up well -even now that it is overstuffed. My kids (or I ) have colored in much of the pen and ink drawings with colored pencils also.

I heard about this book from my sister who has now bought three of them. I purchased one for my wife as an early Christmas gift and was amazed by how quickly she took to the idea. As this is our first year of marriage, we look forward to documenting out first twenty Christmases together. Though it's not filled out with anything other than the beautiful artwork provided by the saler, we already have it sitting out in our house as a piece of decoration.Along with cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, and Christmas presents, this book has become a new part of our yearly traditions. I would definitely recommend this to anyone considering it.

This book, while beautifully illustrated and of excellent quality, simply offered too much. Let me explain; this book offered everything I wanted in a Christmas memory book, and then some. It's that "then some" that ultimately made me decide on a different book. I just didn't need more than two pages to record our simple family's holiday merriment and definitely didn't need half a page just to describe the meal we ate. I wanted to love this book and sat on it for a few days, opening it and marveling at how beautiful it was, but ultimately I just couldn't stomach wasting so much page space on things that weren't relevant to our celebrations. I would suggest this book to those that are really detailed oriented and have the kind of larger family celebrations that would require 3 full pages of space to fill up talking about. Or maybe someone who writes really big. Either way, please enjoy the beautiful illustrations and extra pages explaining the history of modern holiday traditions, which is the part I regret most about not choosing this book!

This is a great book for families who want to remember every detail of their past Christmases. My mother originally got one for our family and we all fell in love with it. There are many questions that you get to fill in, and even spaces for family photos to be glued in, and cards to be adhered to remember the parts of Christmas that many times go unremembered. This is my favorite Christmas Memories 'scrapbook' that I have ever come across, and although you may have to get a couple extra volumes (each one holds 20 years of information) it is a great idea for anyone looking to open up past memories of Christmas for years to come. I like this book so much that I am planning on starting my own starting with this past Christmas as it was the first one with my fiance.

These books are the greatest! I bought a couple of these a few years back in a store for much more money and have enjoyed filling them out each year. Now that I have married children, I wanted them to have a place to write down their Christmas memories.
