Never was able to change the batteries. There is no instructions how to do it. Placing on a sun doesn’t charge the battery. Waist of money if you expect it to run on solar power

At first I did not think this worked but I left it in the window on a sunny day it won’t charge with an led light or a cloudy day. My son loves to push the trains himself instead of them going by battery, so there are very few trains that do interesting things without going by themselves. he loves this train and sleeps with it.

This train is not really electronic. My little girl kepps put it under sunshine to get energy but actually this is not sunlight powered. The power is only for the light. And the energy used really fast. I didnot return it just because my girl still want to keep it. Don't buy, the photos are missleading.

The description says "solar powered train". Actually it's only the lights that are isolated powered.

I really, really wanted to like this train. I wanted this to be a super cool toy under the tree, buuuuut the only part the solar works for is the lights, and it’s extremely finicky about how much light. Light bulbs weren’t enough. A cloudy Christmas Day wasn’t sun enough. Like a day or two after we got the lights to turn on for a little. So, at like $15 or so it’s priced ok, but I thought it would be a little flashier and more exciting. We use it as though it was just a regular wooden train, just with an extra cool look. The lights, well, we did them that one day and haven’t since.

My grandson was disappointed in this since it takes a very long time to charge and now doesn't charge up at all.

Extremely Disappointed!!We were super hyped to get this train! however, turned out to be very misleading. Even the video under product details leads one to believe that it's all run by solar! This is a push by hand train and only the lights are solar, which they aren't bright enough in my opinion to make this an exciting train to play with. I was super bummed watching my little train enthusiast trying to sit patiently watching the the sun beat down on his new train then thinking it's broken because it doesn't move, so I return back for another few hours in the sun and endure more of my 5 year old's impatienness, just to see it still doesn't move! Duh me! If I would have done more research after the first round of sun exposure and it still not moving, I could have spared the intense spike in my blood pressure that day.😲 Lol!! This could be a super cool addition if it did what we assumed it did and how it was interpreted. The other trains just like this are battery operated or come with a charge cord so it's easy to miss understand how it moves. Will be returning! Amazon please be more descriptive on this train so you don't have any other kiddos disappointed. It's one thing for an adult to be dissatisfied, but for children who are obsessed with trains it's the end of the 🌎! So parents if you want a train that moves on its own and lights up their is a blue Hape train that is awesome and fun to play with..

We liked it at first when the solar panel worked, but now the solar panel doesn't charge the lights. Pff.

El juguete no es motorizado además de que el panel solar solo sirve para alimentar la iluminación, simplemente no justifica el hecho de ser solar.

Avevo visto un video promozionale della Hape dove si vedevamo diversi trenini tra cui quello blu che funziona con batteria caricabile con usb e questo verde con ricarica ad energia solare. Li ho acquistati entrambi e si sono rivelati una delusione, soprattutto quello verde. La ricarica ad energia solare serve solo per alimentare la lucina davanti e dopo 2 giorni non funziona più neanche quella. Non ho fatto il reso solo perché al bambino piace lo stesso. Hape deludente..

A misleading description — the train isn’t a solar panel powered train, a solar panel is only for lights. But even lights don’t work in our set.
