Would buy again!
Bought this one hoping for a modern version of the old-fashioned electric blankets that were lumpy, bulky and heavy. We really like this one! Very soft, cannot feel wires within the blanket (no lumpy wires or connections anywhere). Love the 10 hr auto shutoff; we turn it on when we think about it a couple hours before bedtime and then your bed is wonderfully cozy when you crawl in. I often turn my side off in the middle of the night, or at least way down, which surprises me because I like a really warm bed. Important note for us: we make the bed with a flat sheet under the blanket (sometimes flannel), then the blanket, and then another flat sheet on top to protect the blanket so that I will hardly ever have to wash it, hoping to make it last for years.

Some things they didn't tell you
I’ve owned three previous low voltage electric blankets for different beds over time and I am sold on the technology. I won’t go into all of the details because you wouldn’t be here looking at them if you didn’t already know the pros and cons. I just want to add a few personal observations to what you already know. One is that for whatever reason there are some places that think these things should cost a fortune. The technology here isn’t rocket science, a low voltage blanket shouldn’t cost any more than a regular one. Oddly with this brand the tan color I chose was much less than any other color or brand, with the identical thing in some other colors costing almost three times as much. Shop carefully if color isn’t a major issue for you, it’s not for me – the blanket will always be hidden under a bedspread anyway.Compared to some others this one has a rotary control dial. I prefer that, it is simpler to use especially in the dark, there is a wider range of temperatures and less to go wrong. I would not feel the same way about rotary controls for regular electric blankets because some of them turn on and off with a loud clicking sound but this one is totally silent. I think the way it works is that it keeps a constant temperature rather than clicking on and off. And speaking of sounds, some have noted that they hear a high pitched sound with some blankets. I don’t think that is normal, I’ve never heard it from any low voltage blanket I’ve owned and I don’t hear it from this one.As far as being a fire hazard, the reality is that anything that uses electricity can become a fire hazard, it is total luck of the draw. They sell millions of these things and it is very rare that one has a problem and who knows, that could be due to a thousand different thing, including user abuse or misuse. This particular model has over 3000 customers reporting about it and literally a handful who may have encountered a defect or misused it. I had a car once that had an engine fire, I would never think of saying I’ll never own a Ford again because they can catch fire. In other words I wouldn’t worry about it.If you have never actually used a low voltage blanket you might think at first that it doesn’t get as hot as a regular electric blanket. That’s only partially true, most traditional electric blankets get hot, turn off, cool down and get hot again. A low voltage blanket raises the temperature under the blanket enough to warm you up and keep you warm at a constant temperature. Different technologies, same results. In terms of actual real life use, the first night which was very cold I started it at the 5 position and it was very toasty, in fact it was too warm for me. I ended up settling on the 2 position as my ideal sleeping temperature. It’s simply not true that low voltage blankets don’t get warm, I think if I turned it all the way up to 10 I could fry an egg on it.And one more thing for those who have never owned one – the difference between sleeping under a blanket with thick wires in it and a big electrical junction box at your feet, and the concern of electrical energy waves sinking into your body compared to not feeling any wires, not kicking a big heavy plug all night and knowing that only low voltage is being used, well the difference is like night and day. Note that on this blanket the part that plugs into the blanket is very small and it is located at the very edge where you could never feel it.

MINE LASTED 2 YEARS. PRETTY SATISFIED. WORKED FINE.
Mine lasted 2 years.Seems like when I was a kid they lasted longer, but compared to the others I've tried "recently" (in the last 5-10 years) this one was far superior. It's possible I had something to do with it conking out. I woke up the other day and the thing was twisted around like I couldn't believe. Bad dreams I guess.Anyway, I immediately bought another when it stopped working.

Does what it says above...
I bought one a week or so ago (Dec 15 2022), arrived in 2 days from Amazon, and it worked correctly for one night. One of the control units did not work. I called the number listed in the directions and got a recording to leave number and they'd return the call. I read the above comments and figured I could return to Amazon for a refund. Just for laughs, I emailed the customer service email, and they responded within 12 hours. After some email communication, they sent a replacement control the next day. I don't know what might be going on with their company (there are several comments in the Q&As that the company has gone bankrupt and could not be contacted), but, for me, their customer service was tops. Things break - my last one lasted for over 7 years.

This is an item I cannot live without!!!
I absolutely love this heating blanket. I use it all winter - I set it to "High" about an hour or so before bed, then set it to "Low" when I go to bed. It's so pleasurable getting into a warm bed. The "Low" setting keeps my bed toasty warm all night. I reside in Northern Ontario, Canada, and set the temperature to 65° when we go to bed. As I stated in the headline, I cannot live without this blanket in the winter time/colder seasons. I love it! It's not heavy - quite light. If you've never slept with a heating blanket, well, I'd have to say that you are missing out. If you're on the fence, I would say "Buy it!"

Works great BUT
I’ve had this for over a month now, it’s heavenly. I turn it on about a half hour before hopping into bed, the wires are undetectable and the heat is even. My only concern, and something that I’ve just noticed, is the adaptor gets quite hot and makes a very slight electrical buzz sound that I think just started recently as I didn’t hear it last week. I’m running Canadian voltage (110). It’s not resting on fabric of any kind. If this isn’t normal I hope I can get a fix somehow I love this blanket !

Twin size review: Worth the money!! Low voltage heat is an efficient, comfortable surprise.
New edit, now that I've had it for over two years: I like it more than I did when I wrote what was below.I admit I had reservations. There were a couple of lower reviews due to failing units and I also wondered about how well low-voltage would work for my needs up here in my northern Alberta basement room. Well, my blanket works--and works wonderfully. After a few nights getting used to how potentially warm the blanket was, I now generally set the heat on just 2, and sometimes even 1 (but it goes up to 9, then HI). So, when I sleep now, it's one sheet on top of me, and just this blanket on top of that. Nothing else--and it's winter as I write this. The blanket is light, soft, heats very evenly and I just can't see ever going back to a high voltage blanket.I just plain love this blanket.

light & warm
My husband feels the cold, I do not. I bought the blanket for him and he loves it. It gets & keeps his side of the bed warm all over, without feeling hot. The fabric is soft, it has very thin wires so you hardly notice them, the control is very simple, the setting lights up so you can adjust it during the night, plus it's rated highest for safety. The washing instructions look a little cumbersome but at least it can be washed. So far we're really happy with it.

The heat is nice for winter or basement!
My honest, full review:-I've had this for about 2-3 months now. At first I was kind of meh about the heating of it cuz its not noticeable IMMEDIATELY. Give it 5-10 mins though on high under your covers and you'll be turning it down to LOW to sleep with. some nights I've used it at heat setting 2-3 and woke up sweating. I don't recommend sleeping with it on HIGH as you dream of being burned alive only to wake up extremely hot (but not burned, obviously). Some people may like that, but I don't so I keep it on LOW.-It solves my cold feet problem.-its a little hard to use everyday as a personal lounge blanket as you have to plug it in. the cord is extremely long and it could get annoying to drag around with you. Mine just stays on my bed and It's Perfect. The fact you cant really feel the wires is a huge plus too. GET THIS ONE OVER OTHERS. The wire difference alone is good justification for the price let alone the heating it provides.-It's Fleece, don't expect it to be THE SOFTEST THING YOUVE EVER FELT, but it IS nice.
