Get more metallic thread!
It was fun and I enjoyed making it! Lost my place a few times and ended up unstitching as much as stitching. I saw the reviews that said to get more gold thread. I did just that, be sure to get the DMC Light Gold thread! I ended up running out of silver. Some of it may have disappeared from my basket as my cat loves to snooze in my project basket. I went to Michael's to get more silver, but the DMC silver does not match the thread in the kit. If you need to get more silver, the Pewter color matches perfectly!I also messed up so much with the dark red thread that I needed to get more. I got the exact number as listed in the kit at Michael's since it sells DMC. However the color was too light. Unfortunately it was too late and I used it anyway. It blended very nicely still. No one can tell that it was a mistake and that some areas of the red dress were meant to be darker. I also don't do French knots. I've tried and could never figure them out, even if my life depended on it. Doing the Angel's eyes were hard enough. But no one can tell there was supposed to be dark French knots along the fur trim.Overall, it was a lot of fun. Took me about 6 months between full time work and online college courses. I finished it just in time to gift to my sister in law on Thanksgiving before she puts her trees up. Everyone in my family has a cross stitched stocking and I think this was a perfect addition! We use red velvet for the backings and a red piping to line the sides. It's at JoAnns for $3 and it really helps the stocking look well made and separates the velvet from the cross stitched front. I highly recommend that method.Happy stitching!

Beautiful but short on strands
This is a beautiful stocking and dimensions are accurate. The layout for the cross stitch pattern is only in black and white, so it's harder to follow than patterns that use color-coding as well as symbols for the different strands. For outlines, sometimes the stitched outline is in the same place as a thicker grid line on the pattern and it's very difficult to tell whether you're supposed to actually stitch an outline there or it's just part of the pattern grid. There's also a couple of places where the outline shown on the pattern guide is actually plain wrong lol. These were manageable challenges, but the biggest one for me is the same as others have said here - there's just not enough thread provided for the gold and silver metallic outlines, which are difficult if not impossible to match in a craft store (different texture, color, thickness of floss). I ran out of one of the non-metallic colors too but was able to find a close enough match at the local store to cover it. I have sent away to the company as recommended in the kit and hope they will send me enough of the metallics flosses to finish the pattern as promised.

Glad I went with this stocking.
This was my second stocking. I really love how it came out.It came together quicker than the other angel stocking that is available, but it also was the first kit I’ve had that didn’t have abundant amounts of thread. It was only the gold that ran out but there were a few colors that I had maybe 3 inches of 2 strands by the final stitch, so be mindful of use. I did do the beading around the snowflakes with the gold thread and that might have been a bad idea to begin with, but even without that it wouldn’t have been enough for the border around the name. I happened to have DMC E3821 on hand and it was close enough for me. I think I like the thicker DMC to be honest. It did come with ample supply of beads.I used iron on interfacing to protect the stitching and added a liner, using the fabric supplied for the back.

Beautiful but symbols on guide were too similar
The only reason I gave this 4 stars is the pattern guide is hard to read. I had to mark certain ones to delineate as many symbols were similar. Otherwise it turned out beautiful 🤗

Will be beautiful gift
Very pretty and easy to follow. Only con was ran out of the gold and silver floss. Lucky for me I save the extras from other kits.

I got this kit for my great niece, and I love it with the exception ...
I got this kit for my great niece, and I love it with the exception of one thing. The letters are very wide, and my niece has a long name, Charlotte. I had to adapt each letter to get her name to fit at the top of the stocking. I have made many stockings over the years and have never had that problem. I was able to make it work and love the way that it has turned out, but I was disappointed that I had to take the time to adjust the pattern.

Going to be beautiful.
I am 1/3 done with this and there is not enough floss in 5 colors to finish it. Luckily I have a whole bunch of embroidery floss and will be able to complete this project

Beautiful stocking, couple issues.
This stocking is a beautiful blend of colors, stitching now as I write this review. However there are a couple of items that I wish were changed. 1) The symbols the manufacturer uses for the color coding are way to similar, makes it hard to determine while stitching. 2) The pattern enclosed is to small, I wear readers to stitch and I still couldn't read the pattern. Simple solution, I took the pattern to Staples, they used their wide copier to increase the size 40%. It cost me .19 cents.
