This is not a how-to manual. Much deeper stuff in here.
This is a great book for anyone who is interested in any aspect of Thai massage. There are multiple contributors, which lets the book cover a very broad perspective. However, unlike some books that cover a broad perspective, each topic is addressed by an expert in that area. Chapters in element theory, history of Thai medicine, herbal compresses, Buddhism, and more (magical tattoos!) are all covered. This is not another "how-to" book. If there is a particular subject you are interested in, just read that chapter. And each chapter can give you plenty of information to chew on. This is a highly-condensed book - no filler paragraphs. Each essay gets right to the heart of the matter. Great reference book.

A great introduction into Thai Bodywork
I recently began a Thai Bodywork course. This book was one of the recommended readings. Having never studied Thai Massage, or received one for that matter, this book provided a nice and easily comprehendible introduction. It covers history, techniques, herbs, energy lines, as well as many other facets of Thai Massage.. I finished the book before the class began, and when discussing concepts in the class I felt familiar with many of the topics. Definitely a great first step into the realm of Thai Massage/Bodywork.

I Want More
I knew I was getting a copy of the book, but I could not wait so I got the kindle one... Sooo glad I did not wait, I read the whole thing in one sitting. Full of information, insights, history and culture, practical tips, both for those just discovering Thai massage and those already enamored of this art. Get it for yourself and get it to gift your practitioner friends and colleagues, spread the word that this book exists. Read and read again, then keep it nearby for when you need inspiration and knowledge.

A True Blessing
>I have completed the book and have to say I find it one of the most useful books on Thai massage I have ever read. The information you have gathered brings so much light to our work.>So many things I read were things I've been saying and thinking for so long and wondering if I was having this crazy experience by myself or were other people having these realizations after practicing for a while.I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in deepening their practice in the art of Thai bodywork.Kristina Eberle RTT/Instructor

A Gift of Knowledge
I have been waiting to get my hands on this book for over a year-from the first time I heard Bob was writing it. It is a wonderful compilation of essays from some of the most influential teachers of Thai Massage. It is amazing to have the thoughts of all these knowledgeable people in one book.. It is fantastic to have a book about Naud Boran that is not sequence based, but rather the thoughts of and explanations from some of the best known teachers of the traditional Thai Healing Arts

This book gives a broad view of Thai massage and Thai healing. There is so much more to Thai healing than can be procured from one teacher or school. A must have for anyone exploring this tradition. The chapters are written by a number of different and highly respected teachers in the field. Thank you Bob. Gregory Oed touchalchemy com Baltimore.

Excellent & Insightful Overview of Thai massage
This book is a welcome and refreshing collection of information and experiences which include the physical, spiritual and energetic approach in Thai Bodywork.Bob has adroitly gathered information from many sources which really absolve the book from a singular approach or bias.It is divided into sections which cover the mastery of the practice, spiritual & cultural information, etc., as well as views from teachers and many practitioners. It can be read in order or just opened to a great article describing Tok Sen or the Wind-gates and soBuy it , you will not be disappointed if you are seeking meaning in Thai massage.
