I had planned to return it but changed my mind only becauseThis is actually a children’s book but it is very beautiful and it still suits my purpose of having images of her work. I canceled my return.

A beautifully illustrated and written biography about the talented and creative handbag designer Judith Leiber. This jewel of a book will be adored by any young reader with an imagination and dreams of her own.

What a story of survival though book is mostly photos of her creations- Survived he Holocaust and foundlove shortly afterward and the rest is history-

Her crystal-laden designs (those of us from the 80's would call them bedazzled) were worn by everyone, from first ladies, to queens, to Beyonce! She loved creating handbags like no other.Deborah Blumenthal starts with Leiber's humble beginnings, and with an easy storytelling style, and ends with her death last year. The illustrations are colorful and a bit abstract, enhancing the subject's vibrant life. This biography would be best suited for students in grades 2 and up, although may be a hit with younger students, if you find the right group of fashion-forward kids!Thanks to the author and Little Bee books for an early copy to review!

Just found this book at a friend's house... what a wonderful story about a lady who followed her creative heart and became a world renowned designer of imaginative purses. I have to have it for a granddaughter who loves fashion too. A well written beautiful story with lots of colorful and imaginative illustrations.

My Granddaughter received her long awaited copy of Patriots Pugs, and Pixie Dust. She devoured it!! Deborah Blumenthal is a wonderful writer!! Both Sadie and I her old Gma loved the read. I know this is to become one of her favorite books to read over and over again. It really appeals to all ages!!
