Without a doubt the worst phone case that I've ever used for more than 2 years!
Let me tell you about Supcase and this thing they call a phone case. First off, throwing shade is not a hobby of mine; I don't wake up in the morning and wonder who I can abuse on the Interwebs. To be completely honest, which is what this entire review will be, I have yet to review a product on Amazon. So, here goes, and if you're looking for the worst product on Amazon, you've come to the right review! I purchased this product in February of 2015. Boy was that a decision I wish I could go back and make again!Let's start with the design. If you value design then I assure you that this misses the mark somewhere. If you bought your phone to show off to your friends, well, this thing is going to cover it completely, as if protection was paramount. And if you wanted a case that was one material throughout, too bad. Supcase thinks you need rubbery plastic around the sides and hard plastic in those places that you don't hold the phone. Supcase also wants you to have the constant annoyance of opening a protective flap each time you want to plug in headphones or a charger. It's like they didn't even consider that we all take time each month to delicately clean the dust and dirt from these two tiny openings! I've estimate that this silly flap has cost me over 14 minutes of my life in the past 2.5 years. Unbelievable! (2 charger & 1 headphone per day, 0.5 sec per plug, 590 days). Think about where you'll be in 30 months, and then try to imagine how terrible your life would be if you had 14 fewer minutes for activities. Plus, if you count the time I'm spending on this review, this case has taken at least twice that long! So, that's just the design; now let's get my ordeal with owning this product.I was always suspicious of that notion "you get what you pay for" thinking that there may be genuine deals out there. I assumed that cellular companies, like that retailer that rhymes with Vest Guy, might be charging absurd prices for accessories. And it's a big risk to just walk out of a phone store with no case because you think you can find a better one online. What if you dropped that shiny phone in the parking lot? Huge risk, folks. Well, sadly, I took that risk. And I think about that choice I made every few weeks or so, when I see someone with a phone case that looks as thick as an ice cream sandwich. Those cases don't have the words Blotter Pox on the outside, so don't go looking for it. This case is WAY thinner than those. No surprise that a case that's about half as thick is also about half the price! You get what you pay for, folks. So, the case I got held up decently, until about 6 to 8 months ago, that's when the wheels really started coming off of this disaster of a phone case. This case comes with a clear protective screen over the touchscreen. For the most part, the screen strikes a good balance between protecting from scratches and transferring your input without you noticing a barrier. There, I said one nice thing about the product; now you can't write me off as being biased. Well, being that the protective screen is somehow capable of doing its one job, I grew accustomed to using my phone with less than clean fingers. This convenience also produces gunk. And sure, cleaning the case is pretty simple, but there's a bit of an edge where the screen meets the case that is tough to clean. Did Supcase think to include a specially designed cleaning tool? Nope, not this company. Two years after purchase, I got tired of only being able to mostly clean the screen and gave in and irreversibly popped the protective screen off. Now if I want to have a completely clean screen I have to take the case off and, with easy access to the naked front, wipe away any gunk. Just to sum that up, if you use your phone with grubby fingers then after about 2 years this product might be easier to clean without the screen cover. Pathetic.Folks, that was months ago, and I'm over it. Has my phone been vulnerable to scratches for the past half year? Sure. But by shear luck, or, very unlikely, by designing a raised/beveled front rim, my phone has escaped any scratches. So, what monumental catastrophe beset me today and spurred me to air all of Supcase's dirty laundry? Well, I mentioned earlier those flaps that protect the phone's openings. There are three: the charger, the headphones, and the silent mode switch. Which one has completely broken off? Well, technically none, but today I discovered that the silent mode switch flap has been considerably weakened. It's almost flimsy, and if you look at the inside of the joint you can see some of the plastic tearing. But how? That's the question you should all be asking. This guy said he's annoyed by the headphones and charger flaps, he said nothing about this one. Well, I'm just as dumbfounded. I maybe take my phone out of silent mode once every two months. Anyways, I think we can all agree that the only explanation for why my case has a minor piece that is starting to fail after 2.5 years is that Supcase knows nothing about how to make a quality product. On an unrelated note, I think I get fidgety sometimes and might open and close the silent mode cover quite often without realizing it. I came to that conclusion after 3 times today thinking "wow, this flap here opens much easier than usual", I never stopped to ask why I was opening the flap, just surprised that it was easier. Don't think that applies to the topic at hand. It's still a case that is woefully lacking in durability. I would NOT recommend this case to my worst enemy! Here's a nice summary. Supcase has blown me away with their special brand of mediocrity. If you want a product that comes at a questionably low price, requires the absolute minimum effort to clean and maintain *for the first 22 months, protects your phone in such a reassuring way that you don't even think about it, then this product might meet your needs. But only for the first 2.5 years. I'm pretty sure this case has reached the point that the next drop will actually damage my phone. I've been sure of that for a while, but it keeps holding on for one more drop. I can't really wait any longer for that day to come, I need to get the word out to you potential buyers. I'm really sad that it's taken this long for me to see all the short-comings of this company and their product. I wish I could warn all those people buying their newer phones and newer cases. I think the only way I could do that would be to keep purchasing Supcase's products. That way, when they fall apart several years later, I'll be right there to write another cautionary tale to those of you who think you can get more than what you paid for.

Growing tired of comparison shopping, I decided to try a SupCase... Verdict? It's nearly perfect.
I hope this case holds up for a while. It appears so good that I'm tempted to cancel/refund my AppleCare.I've had previous iPhones in Otterbox cases. Initially I used the Defender, but pretty soon you realize that case takes too much of the elegant design away... converting your high-tech and well-designed device into something big and clunky. I "graduated" to the Commuter, and I was quite happy with that on the 4s and 5s. What I liked about the Commuter is the raised lip which provides screen protection... and the Otterbox "hard screen" (if you know what I mean) provides more protection, while it doesn't even seem to be there. Where the problem comes in... is with the new Otterboxes. Read the reviews... they're horrible. People say the fit is off, etc. So I started looking elsewhere.Costco offers the Spigen Armor case... which fits well, but doesn't seem to offer virtually any protection... certainly not on the screen side. It's not that it has no screen protector, but even the lip is TINY TINY TINY... Barely any lip at all... so, what's the point? Since the iPhone 6 screen has this curved edge on it... if the case just grabs that... and you drop your phone, you're going to be very lucky if nothing hits the screen... even if the phone lands flat... a dime is thicker than the Spigen case lip. Guess what? The Spigen case is going back. The other case I liked, which disappeared from Amazon before I could order it the same day I found it... was Obliq. I also ordered one of those from eBay... but if I had already received this case... the SupCase... I wouldn't have bothered. The SupCase is PERFECT... it's the perfect compromise of protection, while maintaining a fairly sleek and techy appearance on your new iPhone. If it holds up... I almost can't say one thing bad about this case! If I had one criticism... I'd encourage SupCase to lose the "flaps" for the lightening connector, etc. Flaps on cases suck... just mold those openings into future cases... but with the "pros" of this case, I can live with that one small "con".Here's what I like:It has a nice, deep lip around the screen. Not too deep, but deeper than many slim cases I've seen. This lip not only rises around the perimeter of the screen, but it actually slightly encases the front screen. Meanwhile, you lose ZERO screen real estate to this protection. You can see the actual phone screen edge before the perimeter of protection starts. The screen protector is nice. It's like the good protection that came with the older Otterboxes... i.e. a HARD SCREEN that's just like the phone glass... if you take your time putting on the case, and do it right (which isn't hard, but have somebody with good hands do it)... then it's as if it's not even there. Mine came out perfect and I felt the whole case install was quite easy. I used an eyeglasses wipe to clean off my fingerprints... then a few strokes with a dry lens cloth. I looked across the face in the light to be sure I wasn't about to trap any dust between the protector and the phone... and Voila'! Perfect! The case has slightly grooved edges... so it's easy to hold your phone too. Again, this is a subtle design cue... just a nice touch. The rubber of the outer case is kind of stiff... and a little hard, but at least to me, that inspires confidence, and it also keeps your phone very pocket-able. The "knurled" texture and soft rubber of an Otterbox makes it nearly impossible to quickly pocket any phone. You won't have that problem here.I also like the overall shape and indented design on the back of the phone. The angles and edges look sharp, without feeling sharp. The "holster" works... smoothly and seems to be secure, although I don't expect to use it much, if at all. There are times when the larger size of the latest phones could be a problem for pockets... so who knows, maybe I'll give it a shot. The fit inspires confidence. Finally, the on/off button was difficult to push with the Spigen case... All button action through the SupCase is BRILLIANTLY EASY... as if the case isn't even there!So... am I happy? Yes! I'm very impressed with almost every detail of this case... and it's reasonably priced. Realize that I just got it and wrote a review right away... so this could change, but I'm so impressed with the fit and finish of this case that it prompted me to give a glowing review right away.
